Of the twenty-three pursuers, sixteen were instantly killed, their bodies sprawled on the ground with horrifying burns and injuries. The remaining survivors were gravely wounded, struggling to cling to life with ragged breaths.
Kurisu didn't give them a chance to recover. "Throw the Explosive Kunai!" she commanded.
A series of explosions shook the area once again, eliminating three more pursuers. Only four remained, but they were teetering on the brink of death.
Kurisu gazed at them with sharp, unyielding eyes. She knew there was no room for mercy. "Use Ninjutsu again. Finish them off from a distance."
The women nodded and unleashed their Ninjutsu once more. Flames and lightning surged forward, obliterating the remaining enemies. The last cries of the pursuers faded into the mist, which slowly began to disperse with the wind.
When it was all over, silence once again enveloped the Valley of Hell. The women, exhausted from expending all their energy, collapsed onto the ground. Their breaths were labored, but their eyes reflected relief.
Kurisu herself sat on the ground, staring at the lifeless bodies scattered in the distance. Sweat drenched her face, but her lips curled into a faint smile. "We did it," she murmured, more to herself than anyone else. Their struggle, though grueling, had not been in vain.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the masked man—Aoki—continued running through the dense forest. Darkness had begun to settle, with only faint beams of moonlight piercing through the gaps in the canopy. Behind Aoki, ten figures clad in black pursued him relentlessly.
"There's no point in running, masked man!" one of them shouted, his voice filled with fury.
Aoki didn't turn back. His steps were steady, his body moving swiftly through the trees like a shadow. He knew this terrain like the back of his hand.
The pursuers didn't seem too concerned about their comrades chasing Kurisu's group. To them, Kurisu and her team were nothing more than weaklings who couldn't possibly survive. They had no idea that their comrades had been brutally wiped out, their bodies now lying lifeless in the misty valley.
As Aoki ventured deeper into the forest, a thick fog began to materialize, slowly blanketing the area in an eerie silence.
"Damn it! What's with this fog all of a sudden?!" one of the pursuers grumbled irritably, waving a hand in front of his face as if trying to clear the mist.
"Quiet!" their leader barked. "This fog isn't ordinary. I can sense chakra in it. It's the work of that masked man!"
"That bastard! How much longer does he plan to keep running?"
"I don't know, but I swear I'll get my revenge! He slashed my leg before!" one of them shouted, his voice laced with anger.
"Yeah, me too! My shoulder still hurts. That bastard's sword cut deep!" A woman among them clutched her injured shoulder. Though it had been treated with Medical Ninjutsu, the pain still lingered. Medical Ninjutsu had stopped the bleeding, but it couldn't erase the residual agony.
Their leader narrowed his eyes, trying to assess the situation despite the fog obscuring his vision. "Be cautious. He might be planning a sneak attack."
"Hah, how's that possible?!" one of the men scoffed arrogantly. "Even if this fog is saturated with chakra and messes with our perception, we can still sense each other's positions."
"Stay alert," the leader warned again, his voice firm.
"Of course—?!"
The sentence was abruptly cut off. The woman with the injured shoulder suddenly froze, her eyes widening in shock. A hand emerged from the fog, clamping over her mouth with brutal force. Before the others could react, a sharp blade pierced through her heart from behind.
Her body slumped forward, caught briefly on a tree branch before sliding to the ground with a soft thud.
