Chapter 138: Aoki's Resolve Strengthens

Aoki stared at the remaining nine enemies with a gaze full of vigilance. Among them, one had been injured, though it seemed to have been healed by a Medical Ninja.

The other eight were still in prime condition, their strength intact with no signs of weakness. Aoki knew that he had to act.

However, facing all of them directly, especially when most were Jonin or even Elite Jonin, was nearly impossible.

Previously, Aoki had managed to injure two enemies and kill one of the wounded. But that was more due to the enemies' carelessness and luck rather than a well-thought-out strategy.

In a one-on-one fight, Aoki was confident he could win. The Natural Energy he controlled gave him a significant advantage. However, against a group of opponents like this, Aoki felt his strength was limited.

Aoki estimated that, perhaps, he could injure three of them, maybe even kill one or two. But that belief was shaky. Doubts clouded his mind, and Aoki wondered if he could truly pull it off.

As the enemies began to form a defensive formation, Aoki realized the situation was becoming more complicated. They were no longer careless, and the opportunity to create an opening was nearly gone.

But in the midst of the pressure, Aoki heard an explosion in the distance. It was the sign of the women from the Hell Valley still fighting. Aoki's resolve strengthened. He didn't need to win—he just needed to buy time.

"Come on, do it," Aoki muttered softly, as if speaking to himself. His breath was shallow, but Aoki moved forward with determination.

As the distance between Aoki and the enemies closed, Aoki reached into his equipment pouch and threw five Explosive Kunai in various directions. Each throw was aimed with precision, targeting the tree trunks surrounding the enemies.

"Watch out! Everyone dodge!" the enemy leader shouted sharply, realizing the threat approaching.

But it was too late. In a matter of seconds, the sound of explosions deafened the area.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Explosion after explosion shook the ground, splinters of wood and dust flying into the air. Several enemies were caught in the blast. While they weren't severely injured, Aoki had successfully created chaos.

Aoki stepped forward with blazing courage, closing in on one of the enemies on the edge of the formation. Without hesitation, Aoki leapt with incredible speed, catching the enemy off guard. The man didn't have time to retaliate, although he managed to draw his sword in defense.

As the enemy's sword was raised, Aoki moved as if to strike to the left. Aoki's movement was so fast and convincing that it caused the man to direct his sword to that side. But just before the strike landed, Aoki suddenly changed the trajectory of his sword to the right with an unexpected speed.

The enemy was deceived, and his movement became sloppy. In panic, the man tried to adjust his sword position, but it was too late. Aoki had already slashed through his right hand with deadly precision.

"Argh!" the man screamed, blood spurting from the base of his arm, while the hand holding the sword flew into the air. Without giving the enemy a chance to think, Aoki continued his attack, swiftly slashing the man's neck with a decisive strike. The man's body fell to the ground, blood staining the earth.

However, before Aoki could catch his breath, a loud voice rang out from the right.

"Katon no Jutsu: Dai Kakyū (Fire Jutsu: Great Fireball)!"

A large fireball appeared, speeding toward him at high velocity. The heat was intense, reaching his skin and making the air around him tremble.

"Fūton no Jutsu: Asshuku-dan (Wind Jutsu: Compressed Bullet)!"

A powerful wind bullet followed, merging with the fireball.
