"If I refuse?" Mo Xiao asked coldly.
"Why?" Bai Qing's voice was icy. "If we divorce, you can marry Yun Qiqi."
Mo Xiao remained silent.
"Or are you still after my bone marrow?" Bai Qing's soft voice carried no warmth. "Mo Xiao, give up. I will never give my bone marrow to Yun Qiqi."
Mo Xiao continued driving, his tone cold as ice. "So, there's no room for negotiation?"
"None," Bai Qing shook her head firmly.
How could she donate her bone marrow to Yun Qiqi? What about her baby? Why should her child be sacrificed for their love?
Mo Xiao stepped hard on the accelerator, speeding up.
Bai Qing gripped the handle tightly, her face pale.
When they arrived at the Mo family estate, Bai Qing got out of the car and crouched by the flowerbed, vomiting.
Her delicate face had lost all color.
Mo Xiao regretted driving so fast earlier.
"Are you okay?" Mo Xiao reached out to help her.
"Get away!" Bai Qing's tears began to fall.
She was already so soft, and when she was wronged, she looked even more pitiful.
"What happened?" Auntie Cai came out from the villa. "Young Madam, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Aunt Cai," Bai Qing tried to stand but felt weak in the legs.
Aunt Cai supported her.
Bai Qing's health had never been good, and everyone in the Mo family knew it—except for Mo Xiao. Such a delicate girl, silently enduring her discomfort, only made her more heartbreaking.
She had no parents, and though she was the young madam of the Mo family, Mo Xiao's indifference left her feeling like a stranger in the home.
She treated herself as nothing more than a guest.
Mo Xiao approached and scooped Bai Qing up into his arms, carrying her into the villa.
"Open the door," Mo Xiao ordered Aunt Cai.
Aunt Cai hurried to open it.
Mo Xiao carried Bai Qing upstairs to the room, where he found that she had already cried herself into a sobbing mess.
The nausea from her pregnancy was unbearable, and on top of that, she had to endure such grievances.
Her small hands clutched at the man's white shirt as she cried uncontrollably.
Downstairs, she had held back her tears for fear that the old madam would hear, but once she was in the room, she let them flow.
Mo Xiao sat on the bed with her in his arms, placing her gently on his lap like a child, cradling her.
"Stop crying," Mo Xiao said, his voice cold as his rough hand wiped away her tears. "Your skin is already so delicate, and crying will only make it worse."
He had never seen her cry so bitterly.
"Mo Xiao, what right do you have to bully me? What right do you have to threaten me?" Bai Qing cried, her voice full of heartbreak and grievance. "The woman you love is your treasure, but does that mean I am not someone else's treasure too?"
"Whose treasure are you?" Mo Xiao asked coldly.
Had someone told her that she was the apple of someone's eye?
"My grandmother's, my mother-in-law's, Aunt An's, everyone's—just not yours," Bai Qing sobbed, her chest heaving. "If my parents were still alive and saw you treating me like this, they would come after you with everything they had!"
Mo Xiao stared at her.
"Just because I don't have family to stand up for me, you think you can treat me like this? Mo Xiao, you're too much," Bai Qing cried, utterly devastated.
She had endured it for days.
Mo Xiao sighed, holding her closer, his hand gently patting her back.
"I already agreed to the divorce. I even promised to keep it from Grandmother and the rest of the family. What more do you want from me?" Bai Qing sniffled. "Do you want to push me to my death?"
"No," Mo Xiao replied, filled with helplessness.
He had no intention of driving her to despair.
In fact, he felt guilty towards her.
That's why, even after their divorce, he still wanted to take care of her, to ensure that no one else hurt her.
"Mo Xiao, tell me, is it wrong for me to love you?" Bai Qing's small, pale hands clutched his collar. "Tell me, was I wrong?"
Mo Xiao's jaw tightened, his voice cold as he spoke, "Bai Qing, there's nothing wrong with loving someone, but I don't love you."
Bai Qing took a deep breath, determined not to cry again, fearing it might harm her baby.
"You're right, there's nothing wrong with loving someone, but please don't trample on my love," Bai Qing said, her lips trembling slightly. "I've been more than forgiving. I agreed to divorce you, yet you still want to force me for Yun Qiqi's sake. Don't you think that's too much? There are plenty of people in the world, and it's not impossible to find someone else with matching bone marrow. Why must it be me? I loved you so much, how could you trample on my heart like this?"
Mo Xiao's dark eyes bore into hers.
She was no longer using cold sarcasm to wound him.
This was the Bai Qing he remembered—soft, pleading with him.
Not the cold, bitter woman who used her words as weapons.
Bai Qing seemed to remember something.
She slid off Mo Xiao's lap, reached into her bag, and tossed the black card at him. "Take it back. Since you've already stopped my card, there's no point in me keeping it."
Stopped?
Mo Xiao frowned. "I didn't stop your black card."
And he hadn't planned to take it back.
In fact, even after the divorce, he had no problem letting her continue using his money.
At the very least, he didn't want Bai Qing to ever worry about finances.
Since the day she married him, he had made sure she never had to worry about money.
And he had no intention of changing that.
"If it wasn't you, then who?" Bai Qing snapped. "Anyway, I don't want it. I don't want you, either. I'm done loving you—I'm tired, exhausted, worn out."
Mo Xiao stood, walking slowly towards her, his presence oppressive.
Bai Qing's pale face flashed with panic.
She retreated step by step until her back hit the door.
Mo Xiao placed one arm against the door, his cold gaze fixed on her. "You don't want me? You don't love me anymore? You're tired and worn out?"
"Yes!" Bai Qing flashed her delicate white teeth. "From now on, love whoever you want. After the divorce, I'll find someone new—someone better, more obedient."
A nameless rage ignited in Mo Xiao.
He grabbed Bai Qing's chin and mocked her in a low voice, "Someone better? More obedient? Bai Qing, have you forgotten? If I don't let you go, how will you find anyone else? Commit bigamy, and I'll send you and your lover straight to jail."
Slap!
Bai Qing slapped him, her tear-filled eyes widening. "You're shameless, Mo Xiao! I said after the divorce. Do you think everyone is like you and Yun Qiqi?"
Mo Xiao snorted coldly. "What can you do about it?"
Bai Qing trembled with anger.
Mo Xiao touched his face, mocking her. "Your slap is so weak. You make it too easy for people to bully you."
She was like a little rabbit.
Soft, sweet, and easy to love.
Bai Qing bit her lip, glaring at the beast-like man. "Mo Xiao, I'm warning you—don't touch me. If you do, I'll tell Yun Qiqi!"
"Go ahead," Mo Xiao grasped her wrist. "Let's see if you still have the strength after this."
"You—!" Bai Qing glared at him furiously. "Mmph!"
Mo Xiao tilted her chin up and kissed her.
The storm within the room raged on.
