Chapter 82: No, no husband I don't want punishment

Lisa sit down and mechanically lifted her fork, her mind still preoccupied with the events of the previous night. She took a bite of her scrambled eggs, the flavors bland on her tongue. Her gaze drifted out the window, lost in thought.

As she ate, her thoughts swirled around Lugard's sudden appearance in her dream, their intense kiss, and his gentle teasing. She couldn't make sense of his actions, nor her own emotions. Her feelings were a tangled mess, and she couldn't untangle them.

After finishing her breakfast, she pushed her chair back, her movements slow and deliberate. "Thank you, Jenkins," she said, her voice distracted.

Jenkins nodded, his expression understanding. "You're welcome, Mrs. Lu. Shall I have Maria clear the table?"

Lisa nodded, already turning to leave. "Yes, please."

She walked out of the dining room, her footsteps quiet on the floor. Her mind was deep in thought, replaying every moment she'd shared with Lugard in dream and reality. She felt like she was drowning in her own emotions, unable to find a lifeline.

As she climbed the stairs, Lisa's thoughts grew more turbulent. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Lugard had awakened something within her, something she couldn't ignore. Her heart felt heavy, her emotions raw.

She reached her room, pushed open the door, and stepped inside. The silence enveloped her, a comforting blanket that wrapped around her fragile emotions. Lisa closed the door behind her, leaned against it, and let out a deep breath.

Her eyes drifted around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. But her mind was elsewhere, lost in the depths of her own heart.

A soft knock interrupted her thoughts. "Come in," she replied.

Maria walked in with a smile. "Good morning, Miss Lisa."

Lisa looked at her and nodded, forcing a faint smile. Maria's warmth was a welcome respite from the chill of her marriage.

"I brought you some tea," Maria said, handing her the steaming cup.

"Thanks," Lisa said, taking the tea from her. She had started liking and growing fond of this young maid, who seemed to be the only one who truly cared about her well-being and make her happy.

as Maria wanted to walk out of the door, she stopped in her tracks. "Ma'am, don't you want to see Young Master?" she asked, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Lisa's eyes narrowed. "He's not even back from his business trip. Where should I go and see him?"

Maria burst out laughing with shock, her eyes shining with amusement. "The Young Master came back last night and even slept with you in your room, so you don't know!"

Lisa's eyes widened in shock. So, what happened last night was real, and the kiss... that's why her lips felt a bit swollen. She scratched her hair, an ugly smile spreading across her face. She thought everything that happened was just a dream. She felt embarrassed, without knowing how to explain to Maria.

"Where is he?" she asked, pretending to be calm, but her face had flushed with embarrassment.

"The Young Master is in his study," Maria replied, winking at her. "Make our Young Master happy, Mrs. Lisa, and love him more, please."

Maria said and ran out, leaving Lisa staring after her in confusion. Lisa laughed, thinking of what Maria said. She felt goosebumps. Love him more? How could she do that? That cold demon doesn't deserved to be loved sometimes? She scratched her hair, her mind whirling with thoughts.

In the study, Lugard's face was cold, his eyes narrowed as he listened to his assistant. "So, she had breakfast without even thinking of calling me," he stated, his voice turning cold.

The butler scratched his head, not knowing how to answer. "Maybe Young Mrs. didn't know you are still at home, from her actions... I think she doesn't know you are back."

Lugard glared at him with a cold gaze. Why wouldn't she know he's back after all the passionate kiss they shared last night? Even if she was sleeping, kissing... or what? He thought in his mind.

"Get out," he said coldly.

"Yes, Young Master," the butler bowed and left the study.

Lugard's eyes remained fixed on the door, his expression unyielding. He couldn't believe Lisa had gone about her day without even acknowledging his return. He felt a surge of anger and disappointment, but beneath it, a spark of anticipation ignited. She was going to receive her punishment, and he was going to make sure she knew he was back.

With a quiet determination, Lugard strode out of the study, his long legs eating up the distance. He was going to find Lisa and make sure she understood that ignoring him came with consequences.

After some hesitation, Lisa walked towards the door to open it and look for Lugard in his study. As she opened the door to walk out, her heart skipped a beat. Her eyes widened in surprise.

Lugard was already in front of her door, his handsome face cold and unyielding. His eyes seemed to bore into her soul, his gaze sending shivers down her spine.

Lisa's eyes locked onto Lugard's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The air was thick with tension, and Lisa could feel her heart racing in her chest.

Lugard's expression was unreadable, but his eyes seemed to bore into her soul. Lisa felt a shiver run down her spine as he took a step closer to her.

"You didn't think I'd let you ignore me, did you?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Lisa tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. She flashed a nervous smile at him, trying to hide her trembling lips.

Lugard's eyes narrowed, his gaze intensifying. "You should have acknowledged my return," he said, his voice dripping with warning.

Lisa's heart skipped another beat as Lugard took another step closer, his eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and desire. She felt trapped, unsure of what to expect next.

Lugard's eyes seemed to burn with an inner fire, and Lisa felt her skin prickle with heat. She took a step back, trying to create some distance between them, but Lugard followed her, his movements fluid and deliberate.

"You should have waited or call me to join breakfast, troublemaker" he said, his voice low and husky. "You should have acknowledged my return or even say hi." he didn't know the reason why he was saying this but he felt hurt thinking that Lisa don't want to see him, even say hi or even cause trouble.

Lisa's heart was racing now, her breath coming in short gasps. She felt like she was trapped in a web of her own making, with Lugard as the master puppeteer.

"I...I didn't know you were back," she stammered, trying to defend herself.

Lugard's eyes flashed with amusement. "You didn't know?" he repeated, his voice dripping with skepticism. "Or you just didn't care?"

Lisa felt a surge of anger at his words, but before she could respond, Lugard reached out and grasped her wrist, his fingers closing around it like a vice.

"You're coming with me," he growled, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"Why?" she asked, trying to escape.

"To face your punishment," Lugard replied, his eyes glinting with intensity.

Lisa's eyes widened. "No, no, husband, I don't want punishment," she said sweetly.

Lugard stared at her stunning face, unable to resist. He carried her and threw her onto the bed.

Lisa's eyes sparkled with fear and excitement as Lugard carried her and threw her onto the bed. She bounced on the bed her hair flying around her face. Lugard's eyes never left hers, his gaze burning with intensity.

"You don't want punishment?" he repeated, his voice low and husky. "But you deserve it, don't you, unripe fruit?"

Lisa shook her head, her eyes wide with fear. "N-no, husband," she stammered. "I'll be good, I promise."

Lugard's eyes flashed with amusement. "You'll be good?" he repeated, his voice dripping with skepticism. "We'll see about that."

He climbed onto the bed, his movements fluid and deliberate. Lisa scooted backward, trying to escape, but Lugard was too quick. He pinned her down.
