New Life.

"Die, you maggot!"

Inside a forest filled with tall trees and thick shrubs, a group of disciples dressed in outer disciple robes surrounded a lone boy on the ground, kicking him continuously.

On the ground, a boy covered in bruises curled into a ball, guarding his face from the brutal kicks. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth as a miserable groan escaped his lips.

He was Li Chen, the weakest outer disciple of the Kunlun Sword Sect.

Zhang Kun and his goons surrounded him, their faces filled with scorn and contempt as they continued to kick Li Chen.

Zhang Kun, a short, fat boy, held a chicken leg and grinned as he watched the beating. 'Humph! I may be fat, but I'm still better than this trash.'

He bit the chicken leg roughly and chewed it in ecstasy.

They might have been part of the lowest rung in the sect, but they were still stronger than the weakest trash. Therefore, hitting and kicking Li Chen gave them a sense of superiority and satisfaction.

"We demand that you give us your family's land deed, or we will continue to trouble you." Zhang Kun tossed aside the chicken leg and approached Li Chen.

He stopped a couple of inches from him and looked down. "With your strength and talent, do you think your family can manage that mine? Hmm?"

"If you had agreed to give Young Miss Jing the land deed, you would have joined our gang by now. So, what do you say?" he asked with a bright smile, folding his arms over his large chest with difficulty.

Li Chen raised his head, his face swollen, bruised, and cut. His bloodshot eyes glared at Zhang Kun with unyielding hatred.

"Zhang Kun…" His voice was low, filled with anger and hatred. "I'll kill you."

The only thought in his mind was vengeance.

He wanted to kill this fatty with every ounce of his strength. He had been trampled on, ridiculed, and shamed but endured it all for revenge.

As for the thought of getting stronger to pursue the Dao and become famous throughout the land, he didn't care.

Vengeance drove him forward.

The mere sight of Zhang Kun made his blood boil, and his eyes deepened with bloodlust, seeing nothing but red.

"Die!" he shouted, summoning the last bit of strength within him.

He had been gathering his strength for this moment, biding his time, and now, the time was right.

He sprang to his feet and lunged at Zhang Kun, swinging his fist toward the fatty's throat. He had practiced this move a thousand times in his mind, intending to kill him as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately for him, the reality was different from his imagination.

His punch was only a couple of inches from Zhang Kun's throat when Zhang Kun's face twisted into an evil smile.

He sidestepped, evading the attack by an inch, and responded with a deadly palm strike.

Bang!

"Ahhh!"

Li Chen's miserable scream echoed through the dense forest as Zhang Kun flung him back. He crashed hard, and a mouthful of blood gushed from his mouth, mixed with fragments of his innards.

Three of his ribs had pulverized, and some of his organs had punctured. His injury was severe, and blood poured from his major orifices.

Immediately, he felt life draining from his body. Panic set in, and he tried to stop the bleeding with his hands, but a powerful kick hit his head.

Bang!

His head spun, and everything around him turned upside down as his thoughts became sluggish.

He lay sprawled on the ground, covered in blood, his chest rising and falling with difficulty. Zhang Kun appeared in his blurry vision, his face filled with disdain.

"You dare attack me!" Zhang Kun shouted, veins bulging from his forehead.

Bang! Bang!

His relentless kicks echoed through the forest, while Li Chen's pained groans gradually subsided.

Realizing his target was no longer moving, Zhang Kun finally stopped his assault and snorted.

"How dare you attack me! Hmph! Killing you is showing you mercy."

Without caring about Li Chen's body, he turned and left. His goons looked at him with a mix of fear and respect.

"Boss, what should we do with his body?" a thin boy asked.

"Leave it and let it rot. That's his punishment for attacking me," Zhang Kun replied, folding his arms behind his back as he strutted proudly.

Suddenly, the sky darkened, and a purple streak of lightning flashed through the sky, followed by thunder that shook the earth.

The phenomenon shocked everyone, throwing them into confusion. The purple lightning and the deafening thunder echoed across the entire world.

Mortals fell to their knees and prayed to the gods to reduce their anger, while powerful cultivators believed a strong cultivator was undergoing heavenly tribulation.

Nevertheless, the strange phenomenon lasted for five hours, and it was only after its disappearance that people realized the gravity of what had occurred.

In a matter of minutes, the world plunged into chaos.

In contrast to the turmoil happening around the world, Li Chen's lifeless body trembled slightly, and his finger twitched. Slowly, his chest began to rise and fall, and blood coursed through his veins once more.

His injuries healed at a visible speed, and after a few minutes, all the bruises and cuts on his body vanished.

"What a strong thirst for revenge!" a voice echoed in Li Chen's mind as he pushed himself into a seated position.

The previous Li Chen was dead, replaced by a new soul from Earth. The new soul was also called Li Chen.

Inheriting the memories of the body's previous owner, Li Chen felt an overwhelming thirst for vengeance, a resentment so strong it could drown a city.

This vengeance wouldn't disappear unless he took revenge.

It took Li Chen five minutes to adjust to this new reality. He got to his feet, looked at the sky, and muttered, "Your revenge is mine."

The moment he spoke those words, a notification echoed in his mind.
