The Savage Crow Gang- Part 1

In shock, everyone stared at Li Chen, Guiyin, and Zho Wen inside the Wild Goose Chamber.

When they had left in search of food, everyone was worried, expecting either Guiyin or Zho Wen to fall into the hands of the zombies. But who would have guessed that the two would return safe and sound?

"Young Miss…" Na called out with a sigh of relief.

"Big Brother!" Zho An rushed over and hugged her brother.

The little girl had been worried sick about her brother and couldn't help but wail several times. Zho Bi looked at her little sister and brother and smiled.

She might not have cried like little Zho An, but her worry was no less. She approached them and joined the hug.

Li Chen didn't disturb the family reunion and waited a few seconds before clearing his throat.

"Enough of that." He clapped, gaining everyone's attention. "Manager Bo, store this food in the storage. And if I find out you keep any for yourself…" His voice trailed off, leaving the rest to their imagination.

"Young Master, I wouldn't dare. I'll protect this food with my life." Manager Bo slapped his chest, his eyes brimming with undying loyalty.

"You'd better. Choose two people to cook some food." Li Chen commanded and headed for the third floor.

As he reached the steps, he paused and looked at Guiyin and Zho Wen. "Well done. Continue like this, and we might all survive."

With that, he departed.

Guiyin's expression didn't change, but Zho Wen's face was full of smiles. He might not be as powerful as the Young Master, but now, the zombies weren't as scary as before. His confidence had grown, and he could see a future for himself and his siblings.

"Young Miss, are you okay?" Na asked with a slight frown.

"I'm fine. I'm going to my room. Don't disturb me," Guiyin replied and left.

Manager Bo looked at Guiyin and shook his head. With the way things were going, it wouldn't be easy for their young miss any longer—and not just for her, but for everyone.

He sighed and pushed the thought out of his mind, then called for three servants to carry the sack to the kitchen.

On the third floor, Li Chen had taken off his clothes, leaving his chest bare. With the zombies' strength continuously increasing, he knew he couldn't afford to relax.

"Hera, how long do you think it'll take me to become a Level 2 warrior?"

"Who knows? One hundred and fifty red crystals should be enough for your promotion," Hera's voice echoed in his mind.

"I figured as much."

Quickly, he closed his eyes and began to cultivate using the red crystals.

...

On the street, Lou Ning and the members of the Savage Crow gang held various weapons as they searched for food and clean water.

After they ransacked a small store, they came out carrying a small sack, their faces brimming with smiles.

"What are you doing? Hurry to the next store," Lou Ning said sternly, but the excitement in his voice betrayed him.

Growl!

Before they could leave, they heard a growl behind them. Fifty zombies were rushing toward them.

"Let's kill them quickly!" Lou Ning shouted, charging toward the zombies with his axe resting on his shoulder.

The Savage Crow gang members froze in their spots, stunned. They had fought many battles with other gangs, but fighting these vile creatures was a different story.

If they were bitten, the only fate awaiting them was turning into one of those monsters, which terrified them more than death itself.

Bang!

While they hesitated, Lou Ning had already engaged the zombies. He swung his axe, splitting a zombie's head in two.

As he killed the first zombie, he frowned at the sight of the splattered brain on the ground, but his confidence grew.

'Just like the boss said, there's nothing special about these vile things,' he grinned and attacked wildly.

With each swing of his axe, he hacked zombies to their deaths. However, he soon realized that the axe didn't effortlessly cut through the zombies' heads—he needed to put more strength into each blow, which was draining his energy.

And then, he noticed that his fellow gang members hadn't joined the battle.

"What are you doing? Are you planning to tell the boss you chickened out of the fight?" he shouted angrily.

"Hmph!"

When the frozen gang members heard the name of their ruthless boss, they shivered and exchanged glances. A young man sighed and rushed toward the zombies.

With the young man taking the lead, the others followed.

On the quiet street, the Savage Crow gang members hacked the fifty zombies to pieces, though not without losing three of their own.

Looking at their fallen comrades, who had turned into zombies, Lou Ning commanded ruthlessly, "Kill them quickly—they're no longer human."

"Yes."

The three newly-turned zombies were swiftly decapitated, and the gang members breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hahaha! These vile things aren't as tough as I thought," one of them shouted excitedly.

"I told you, the boss wouldn't send us to our deaths," Lou Ning responded with a slight smile. "Let's continue our search." He wiped the bloody remains from his face.

Thirty minutes later, Lou Ning and the remaining members rushed back to their hideout, terrified by the many zombies chasing them.

After killing those initial zombies, they had grown cocky and didn't care about the zombie threat—only to realize how wrong they had been.

The horror of the zombies didn't lie in their power but in their overwhelming numbers. They also realized that the more they fought, the more zombies would converge on their location, forcing them to fight endlessly.

Out of all those who had ventured out, only five made it back to the Savage Crow hideout.

The Savage Crow gang leader looked at Lou Ning and the four others with a smile.

"Well done. You've all done well."

As for those who had died, he didn't care. What did the lives of peasants matter compared to his safety? Besides, as a gang leader, he had seen so much death that it no longer bothered him.

In truth, he had somewhat expected them all to be wiped out, so the fact that five returned was a bonus.

"Tomorrow, when you go out to hunt, look for more survivors. We need to increase our strength."
