Chapter Six
"you should have breakfast" Nifemi said in her gentle voice, standing in front of Stanley.
"what do you think you're doing?" he asked in an intimidating voice, glaring icily at her..
Nifemi, however, remained unfazed and straight faced.
"trying to make my husband have breakfast with me" she replied calmly and he scoffed mockingly at her.
"go to hell" he spat out coldly, and went for his car keys.
He frowned on seeing that it wasn't on the center table and glared hatefully at her
"where is my car key?" he demanded fiercely.
"are we having breakfast together or not?" she retorted brazenly and he let out a frustrated sihh
"you..., I guess I expected too much from an illiterate like you"
"are we having breakfast or not?"
"I'd rather eat shit" he hissed and stormed off
"Nifemi!" he bellowed angrily and marched back to the living room where she stood, staring flatly at him.
"do you really think I can't beat the hell out of you right now?" he asked, balling his hands into a tight fist.
"can you?" she raised a provocative brow at his..
He let out a shaky sigh and punched the wall thrice angrily, which did the trick of calming him down a little.
"go and unlock that door right now!" he ordered in a domineering manner.
"are we having breakfast or not?" Nifemi was insistent, her gaze unwavering. Stanley was forced to succumb and could only sigh in defeat.
"fine, let's go and have your goddamn breakfast. I just hope it's not poisoned but the way" he replied angrily, going to the dinning room in obvious annoyance.
Nifemi stared longingly at his retreating back view.
Though, she appeared calm and unperturbed, her heart was racing really fast.
She felt nervous, afraid, dejected and heartbroken.
Her husband hated her like plague.
He wouldn't have married her if not for his father's threats and coercion.
He also would never have touched her if not for being drugged by his father on their wedding night.
The was their first and last moment together.
He hated her so much that the thought of sleeping with her disgust him.
It's been three months since their marriage yet he's still so cold.
Her eyes welled up as her teary gaze dropped on her flat tommy which she stroked tenderly with so much love and affection.
Maybe he'd change his attitude towards her when he heard she was expecting their first child.
He should be able to treat her better then, for the child's sake, at the very least.
A determined look became etched on her beautiful face.
She would fight for her husband.
That bitchy Angel Coker sleeping with him had better be prepared.
👿👿
Everyone who knew her on campus were clearly avoiding her.
Angela rolled her eyes care freely as she listened to the snide comments her used to be friends were making about her.
"ah!" she suddenly let out a startled scream as someone suddenly grabbed her by her newly braided hair and hurled her to the ground.
The pain she felt on her back made her face turn pale as her breath got caught in her throat.
"you witch, it's you, you killed her, you killed my sister"
Angel recognized the duo that attacked her.
One of them was Martina, the younger sister of her dead boyfriend and Mary, the younger sister of her dead friend, Anita, who died five days ago.
"let go of me, ah!" she kept screaming in pain as she tried to ward of the attack from the crazy duo but she was no match for them as they'd gone berserk with rage.
No one came forward to help.
Instead, they were jeering mockingly at her, some laughing while some were filming.
The timely arrival of her brother, Austin, made her cry out in relief.
He arrived with a troop of bodyguards and she was pulled away from the duo.
Angel bursted into tears on seeing her brother and hugged him for comfort.
Austin saw red seeing the apple of his eyes in tears.
The last thing he wanted was that.
"arrest those two and everyone around" he barked out orders and everyone started running around except for the duo.
Martina bursted into a loud, eerily mocking laughter.
She glared at Austin with bloodshot eyes.
"you're going to protect that witch still?, don't you understand yet?, she's a bad luck. Whoever us close to her should be prepared to die in the most gruesome way ever. Why do you still protect her?, you should butcher her up instead and feed her remains to the dogs. Who knows, you might even be the next victim "
Austin's face went red in rage.
" slap her till her mouth bleeds then escort the both of them to the police station. They should be ready to face the consequences of their actions "

Dinner was sumptuous and with little Ella around, it was as bubbly as ever as a light and harmonious aura hung in the air.
" awnn, that was so cool "Ella cooed and Angel chuckled excitedly.
" you think so tii"
"of course I do. Let me give you a kiss"
Everyone smiled at Ella's cuteness.
It always felt good to have her around.
However, everyone but Mrs Coker.
"I went somewhere today" Mrs Coker 'said somber tone which was dull and melancholic ruined the exuberant atmosphere.
"mum, what's wrong?, you don't look good" Emmanuel, the first child of the family and Elle' she dad asked.
"are you okay?" Mr Coker questioned worriedly.
"everything is not okay!" she replied and everyone stared at her in alert.
"what happened?" David, the second son asked.
"where I went this morning, I went to inquire about the strange killings happening"
"don't tell me it's a spirituallist home" Austin asked incredulously.
"well, I had no choice but to go. This matter involves my daughter. Did you expect me to just sit back and watch my daughter get implicated?"
"so, what happened?" Evans, the last son, asked, bringing them back to the main topic.
"the reason for the strange killings..." she paused and shot Angel a complicated look.
"... Is related to Angel's past"
"Angel's past?" the four brothers synced.
"yes," she nodded in affirmation.
"her past, according to the man, is one she herself isn't aware of. A past that'd hunt her till her death. A past that would..." she stared straight into Angel's puzzled eyes.
"... Make her not experience happiness. Everyone she cares about would die a week after the other. "
Silence hung in the air above them.
Suddenly, Elle bursted into a cheerful laughter, clearly oblivious to her grandmother words, throwing the atmosphere into a peculiar one.
