The man continued to stare at me, and I could see the hopelessness in his eyes as he quickly looked behind himself. "They stopped," he muttered, his shoulders drooping even more. "But there are more of them."

 

"They are just as interested in your wish as I am," I chuckled, looking down from where Chang Xuefeng held me. "So, are you going to make a wish? Or just hurry up and die?"

 

"Fine," sighed the man, straightening his back as he stared at me. "You want me to make a wish? Here it is: I wish that I could get half of the supplies from City B to the survivors who need them, and I wish that the humans in City B could have a better chance of surviving. Being attacked day and night is doing nothing but wearing us down even faster."
