"Let me go," snarled Désiré, his voice low and harsh, like a beast that had spotted his prey. "Now."
Salvatore paused for a second, but with encouragement from Envy, he eventually let go of his friend and brother. He never had hard feelings when it came to Max leaving them. He was always the softest of the seven of them, and it made sense that he couldn't handle everything.
Hell, Max probably would have had a meltdown over anything when the world ended. He wasn't good with changes in his life, and the whole apocalypse thing was a big one.
But saying that he couldn't wait for their girl to die? Yeah, Envy was right. Max had made his bed, and now it was time to die.
"Réne made the voice go away?" purred Désiré, his eyes glowing gold as he stalked toward Max. "You sure about that?"
