More Truths Amongst The Lies  

"They are protective of you," mused the man sitting across from me as Tank struggled under the pull of the house. I could see the need to shift and protect me in every line of his being, so I let him.

 

The second Tank was free, the human was gone, and the 250 lbs hellhound took his place. "Be good," I warned him, but all he did was sprint over to the couch where I was sitting. Jumping up on the seat beside me, Tank got comfortable with his face on my lap.

 

"I am theirs as much as they are mine," I replied, gently scratching Tank's head. He seemed to relax under my attention, but no one in the room was actually buying it. "They will protect me to the bitter end, and I would do the same for them. As much as you feel like mine, too…."

 

"It's different," smiled the man with a nod of his head. "And I should hope so. Fathers aren't meant to have a romantic relationship with their daughters."
