Sadie pulled me away from the guys and pushed open the door to the stairs. "Sorry about that," she apologized with a bright grin on her face. "The elevators were one of the first things to freeze."
"I don't see how I can blame you for the weather," I chuckled, following up behind her.
"We're in Country N; apologizing for the weather is just one of our things," she chuckled back. "Sorry that it's too hot, sorry that it's too cold, sorry that it is raining, sorry that it is sunny, sorry that it is snowing, sorry that it isn't snowing."
"Do you guys have control over the weather then that you can apologize for it?" I asked, almost certain that I wasn't joking anymore. I thought you were only supposed to apologize for things that were in your control. Weather was definitely one of those things that were not under human control.
Yet.
I could change that if she really wanted me to.
