Over Here Dying

"Perfect," I purred. "Then get Sadie on the boat, no matter what she says. I have all her stuff with me; all you need is her."

"What do you mean?" asked Colt, going back to the growly lumberjack that I had first met. That was probably a good thing. This sensitive side to him was making me break out in hives. 

"We are running out of time," I said flatly. As if to prove my point, a giant wave crashed against the side of the building, sending the gangplank crashing into the window frame, almost causing the two people on it to fall into the waters. 

The dolphins chirped happily as they came to the surface, their shiny black eyes staring at the two people like they were an offering to the gods.
