Journey begins

In a bustling port, filled with cargo being moved around, people running all over the place and yelling or saying goodbyes or greetings and ships slowly moving in and out of port. In front of a ship named the KMV Gift Giver, stands Ryu, Davin and Alden. Both Davin and Ryu carrying their own luggage box, one dark brown and another a bright blue. "I must apologise for not being able to join master Davin.", Alden said while giving a slight bow. "It's alright Alden, I know your duties stop you from leaving the estate too long, I'll try to write as much as possible.", said Davin. With a final bow to his master Alden left both Ryu and Davin at the port.

Going up the ship, Ryu and Davin saw the sailors hauling on cargo and checking on equipment. Up by the wheel they saw an elven woman with sky blue skin and a large scar covering her left eye. She has a saber holstered to her side and a revolver in a chest strap. She was talking to the first mate judging by the fact he was wearing what seemed like an officers uniform. She notices the two of them get on board, gives her final instruction to the first mate and makes her way towards the both of them. "Never thought I would be escorting a green-skin and an oriental.", the woman says with a slight french accent.

"Manners captain, I expect you to have them.", Davin retorts with a slightly angry expression. "Tut tut tut.", the captain tuts while wagging her finger in front of Davin's face. "You are on my ship right now, and while you are on this ship, you will refer to me as Captain Mer.", she says.

Davin goes from scowling to performing a breathing exercise to calm himself down. "May we please be shown to our accommodations Captain Mer?", He asks. She smiled at him causing him to feel a chill go down his spine, she gestured for them to follow her. As they went down the stair, Captain Mer said to them, "The trip will take around 11 days, in the mean time you will be sleeping in the officer's quarter with First Mate Sergio. You will eat breakfast with the crew and you will not disturb them in any way, shape or form." She opens a door to reveal a small room with 3 hammocks and a table that seems to have been moved away, likely to make room for the additional hammocks.

"Now if you will excuse me.", Captain Mer says in a mocking tone, "I shall take me leave and handle affairs far more important that touring my ship with such valued guests.", she finished, giving an exaggerated bow and walking away.

As she disappears from view and onto the deck, Davin lets out a loud huff and said, "Finally she's gone. What a rude woman.", he complained. "Let's go in Ryu.", Davin said, letting go of the scowl that covered his face throughout that entire conversation. Ryu, who maintained a stoic face the entire conversation, responded with, " She seems honest at least Senior, I cannot say the same for some of the crew.", his face growing a little dark after saying that. "You're over thinking it Ryu, they were probably just staring because they were in my presence. It is quite the rarity to be graced with the presence of a member of my house.", Davin arrogantly suggested. "Anyways, enough with these uncultured people, we should spend the time we have cramming knowledge into you.", he continued. Ryu nodded and set his luggage down underneath the table with Davin putting his next to Ryu's.

Just then they felt the ship moving and looking out the windows of the officer's quarters they see the port slowly going further away. "We still have some hours left before lunch. Let's get started.", said Davin. Ryu gave a quick nod and rummaged through his luggage, pulling out a notebook and a pencil.

It is currently the fifth night of the voyage, the ship and sea quiet except for the occasional creaking noise the ship makes. In the cargo hold, surrounded by crates and barrels, several figures huddle together around a lamp. Talking in a hushed tone as to not alert the people on watch duty. "Have you lot found it yet?", one figure asks, his voice gravelly as if he has spent his whole life smoking. The others nod their head, "Took a while, it was hidden in the cargo and it takes ages when these boxes aren't labeled.", a younger looking man piped up. "What'd it say?", the first figure asked, "This voyage is our last and we are to begin the plans. Personally signed off by a member of the Five Suns.", the younger fellow answered in a excited but hushed tone. The other people murmured excitedly at the mention of the Five Suns but were quickly shushed by the first figure who seems to be their leader. "Quiet down you fools, we'll never see the great rebirth if you lot give us away before we can do anything.", he said. "We'll mutiny tomorrow night, most of us would be on watch duty then and the captain's supporters would all be asleep.", he continued. "What about the passengers boss?", the young man questioned. "The Scientia lad is unexpected boon, we'll be rewarded if we capture 'im. We'll just dump the orient alongside the first mate and the loyalists. You boys can have your fun with the cap'n but dump her with the rest when your done. After that we head to Lu'um Bek'ech, some militia folk should be there wait'n for us.", the boss answered. The other men seem to salivate at the thought of a reward and having their fun with the captain, other seemingly disgusted or worried at the thought of landing in the jungle filled hellscape of Lu'um Bek'ech. Either way, the boss noticed the men's reaction and said "The phoenix will rise again.", snapping out of their thoughts the others repeat after him in unison and after blowing out the lamp, they slowly snuck their way out of the cargo hold.
