The Next Morning...
Charlotte sat on the edge of her bed, fastening her heels when Lena strolled into her room, arms crossed with a mischievous smile on her face.
"You're really going to work today?" Lena asked, leaning against the doorframe.
"Yes," Charlotte replied firmly, standing to smooth her skirt. "I've been away for too long. I need to catch up."
Lena moved closer, her expression shifting to concern.
"But it's Friday, Char. You should rest. Take a day to breathe. You've been through so much lately."
But Charlotte shook her head with a small smile.
"I appreciate it, but I've already made up my mind. Besides, I talked to Ethan about it yesterday, and he agreed."
Lena raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in her eyes. "Speaking of Ethan... what exactly happened yesterday at his place?"
Charlotte froze, her hands stilling on her bag.
