Chapter 58

The evening sun cast on the streets as Ethan drove Charlotte home, the atmosphere inside the car filled with laughter.

Ethan had been telling jokes non-stop, most of which were so absurd that Charlotte couldn't help but laugh until her sides hurt.

"I'm serious, Charlotte," Ethan said, a grin tugging at his lips. "If I weren't a CEO, I'd probably be a stand-up comedian. The world's missing out."

Charlotte wiped a tear from her eye, shaking her head. "Oh, please. You'd get booed off the stage in minutes."

"Booed? Me?" Ethan feigned offense, placing a hand dramatically over his chest. "I'll have you know, I have an audience of one who thinks I'm hilarious."

"Well, lucky for you, I'm an easy audience." Charlotte giggled, looking out the window.

Ethan chuckled but couldn't stop what was going on in his head.
