Following Ethan's question, Charlotte quickly locked her phone, forcing a smile.
"Nothing," she replied casually. "It was just Lena. She called me."
Ethan's brows furrowed slightly, but he let it go. He walked down the stairs, his eyes still on her.
As soon as he reached her, he pulled her into his embrace, his strong arms wrapping around her waist.
Charlotte instinctively slid her arms around his neck, resting her head against his chest. His warmth, his scent—it always made her feel safe.
"Go freshen up," she said softly. "I'll handle breakfast this morning."
Ethan pulled back slightly, his dark eyes searching hers. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," she nodded with a smile. "Just go, Mr. CEO."
"Alright. But I better get something delicious." Ethan smirked. Before letting go, he leaned down and pressed a slow, lingering kiss on her lips.
