Molly watched as a heavily armored car drove to the gate. When two handsome me got out of the car they are arguing.

"Why are you acting like a grumpy old man? I just want to see what a base looks like." One said.

"Are you forgetting what those people had just done?" Lu Pei felt disgusted being anywhere near a place with those kinds of people.

"Sigh, I just want some live animals." The younger one said. 

"Oh that makes everything better then." Lu Pei said sarcastically.

"Lets just find them and go."

"Excuse me. I have a small farm." Molly said.

That brought me out of my stupor. I smiled walking her way. "What do you want for payment?"

"My son. He was bruised and half his face is now hideous I am afraid he is already being bullied outside. He got hurt saving me and I don't want him to be called a monster." Molly said, her eyes showing a mother's concern. I feel envious for her child.

The world is already like this but this woman still wants to give her all for the sake of her child. Mine threw me away when the world was still peaceful. I let the woman take me to her tent. Finding her son who seems to be surrounded by gloomy aura. 

Half of his face is covered by a cloth while the other half seems normal but he will definitely be affected by such a large scar.

"My name is Mikel, can I see your son's injury?" I walked towards the boy and even with his obvious displeasure I checked the wound.

The base is more like a single building with some people sleeping in the open outside. They made tents to sleep in but because I know the storm is coming, they probably won't survive living like this.

"Mom." The boy said weakly. Their food has already been taken by swindlers outside now she still brings more people.

"I don't have all day." I snap. The boy comes out watching me but my eyes moved to the cloth on his face I take out a leaf.

"Here swallow it. Tell me when you start to feel numb." Seeing a leaf being given to him, he doesn't doubt this is another swindler. He looked to his mother.

"Mom. Can you stop bringing these Charlatans here? I am being fed a leaf. Mom.." He complained but his mother looked at me with questions. 

"This brother, what is that leaf for?" She asked kindly. It is really easy to see a woman who goes to church and has faith. 

"It is a strong pain killer. If you can please hurry the night is dark and full of terror." I say chuckling to myself. 

"If I may, can I test it first?" I give her the leaf and she swallows it. After a while she can feel her body in a drunken state.

"Son just accept it." The mom said, the boy wanted to protest but I shoved the leaf into his mouth and he swallowed it. There is no way I am losing cattle over a brat. 

After a while I took off the cloth and the wound is already infected. I take out the scapula and start cutting out the rotting flesh. He is amazed that he can not feel most of the pain. I then wrapped the bandage after putting the purple paste on the wound.

This night we slept in the car. I had taken a big car. In the morning the boy's face is still tender but the wound was healed completely.

When I took out a mirror to show him, he gasped and rejoiced. I put more paste and bandaged it again. The woman took me to her little animals. They look to be dying soon luckily she said to take everything because her abilities are limited.

This will undoubtedly leave them with nothing. As a result of feeling guilty I will let them follow me to a secure place to wait out the storm. Deep in thoughts, Lu Pei asked "What are you thinking?" 

"Pock belly, chicken feet and spicy trotters." I lied. 

"Can you cook?" He has a vague recollection of chicken soup sent to his office that he always told his people to throw away. 

Of course I can cook. I spent so much time to make him food especially after coming back from the barrier when I had polished potions skills. I would make him medicinal soup but I guess my soup couldn't compete with mana spring water. I shake away the gloomy thoughts and take stock of the animals that will make me very happy in the future. 

It is chickens, ducks, four baby pigs, three small sheep and three small cows. These are all babies but with the environment inside my space I have all the confident to nourish them all to perfect health.

"You and your son can follow us to the central base. It is one day from here and will be safer than a crowded place like this. There is a storm coming. You and your son will not survive it like this."

I gave them a car to drive closely behind us. "If you want to say something just say it." I get irritated with a person looking at me non stop. 

"I didn't know you have a kind heart." Lu Pei said.

"It is not me being kind but the payment should be equivalent to a favor received." I say in response. 

"Are you saying those tiny animals are worth something?" He asked. 

"Yes." 

"I see."

He came close to the chair right behind me. I can feel his breath on my shoulder. Goosebumps grew on my neck. He keeps doing things like these trying to get me to lose control and give in. 

"Are you going to have a territory in the central base?" He asked me wanting to learn more of my plans. 

"That is non of your business. Before, you told me your nephew has a healing power, did you get him out of the building he was stuck in?" I asked and I can see him become alert. 

"No, I heard it from the same girl." He answered. 

"Oh." We made to to the city in time for sunset. I went inside with him right behind me. The two people also followed us into the building. 

"I can take you to an empty apartment and give you a few necessities." Indeed there is a place with everyone inside has turned so I just killed the lot of them and left a cooking stove, gas and some food. Turning to them I inform them. 

"I put you in the eighth floor because the upcoming storm. This place doesn't have a balcony so just lock the windows. I don't owe you anything now, do you understand?" I asked and they both bowed in thanks. 

"I will take you to your nephew." I take him there but the sounds we heard in the hallway made us blush. It sounded like the two people are sharing his sweet nephew. I am already spotting a throbbing tent in my pants. 

I started walking away Lu Pei following close behind me. It seems the powder made people realize their feelings. Does this mean I did a good thing? Anyways I will pat myself for a job well done. 

When I entered the 16th floor one of the flats main door opened Kai came outstanding on the door frame. "Mikel, I have been waiting for a long time now. Where were you?" The person looks to have otherworldly beauty that is normal for the two clans. This however doesn't diminish the wild temperament visible in his eyes. 

"Ugh.. Why are you looking for me?" I showed irritation. There are still a lot of creatures in the staircase, now I am covered in blood having climbed up to the 16th floor killing all the creatures I came across on the way. 

I collected thousands of blood crystals and hundreds of mana cores in the hospital. The factory gave a lot of mana cores as well. 

"I want to apologize about what happened before, who is this guy?" Kai pointed at Lu Pei with his eyes fierce but this drama just bored me. Even the boner from before disappeared. 

"I'm beat. So whatever this is, some other time please." I unlock my flat and entered. "Lu Pei, you can sleep in the gust room." I went to change the bed and threw the bedding before coming out but Lu Pei stood in my way. 

"I don't have clothes." Lu Pei has been throwing away the clothes because the saliva from ghouls is acidic. The clothes are always full of holes. 

"I'll see what I can get." I say pushing him out of the way but he holds my waist pulling me close. Breathing over my ear, my breath hitched in my throat making me dazed for a while. 

"I was thinking that maybe I haven't been sincere in my apologies, how about I take care of your needs for once? I will make you fell good." Those words made me stiffen. What does he mean make me feel good? 

Lu Pei has never made any effort in bed, other than inserting himself he never cared about my happiness, I bite my lip imagining him pleasing me. But.. the haze is cleared by the hateful gaze he gave me right before he set those vicious dogs at me.

"No thank you. I already have someone." I sneered and left the room.

"Is it that boy next door?" Lu Pei asked me with a growl but I ignored him and threw sets of tracksuits on his bed. I took a bath in the space and changed my clothes going to the gym. When I came out of the shower again, a strange sight greeted me. 

Lu Pei has made spaghetti and creamy mushrooms with kitchen strips. It looks very appetizing.

"Is there some for me?" I ask while looking at the food on the table, he gave me a plate full of food. The amount is a lot.

"I have seen how much you eat." He said and I thanked him before starting to eat. It really tastes good. 

"This is really good." I say when I finished the entire thing. He nodded but said nothing else. Lu Pei doesn't speak much which is okay. There is not much to talk about between us. 

The next day he left towards the nephew's place, he took him away and they left the building behind. I am glad this trip happened I can now say that man is out of my system.

The morning had come but the sun is no where to be found making the streets very dangerous to navigate. I drove down town and to my surprise the place is not bustling and non of the buildings are vacated. 

Looking closer, there is no Huo Jun. It has been weeks, if he was going to come he would have come already. It seems he changed his mind or is in trouble. 

If he can not even take care of himself I can not trust him with half my interest. It is better I do this whole thing myself. When I came to downtown It is gloomy and like always the strong are using unscrupulous means to oppress the weak. 

I went into my space and came out with a box full of dry meat in small snack pockets. I take out a table and sat down with a pen and a paper.

I didn't call anyone but soon enough someone came down from the buildings looking to find out what I am selling.

"It's free dry meat. I am looking for labor. I will pay you two meals a day." I say the person took the single pocket. He is a tall man with excellent physique but I know he is coming down from the group of men who are gangsters armed with guns.

After seeing someone coming to me and leaving with a pocket of food, more and more people came down. I wrote down those willing to work for me for two meals a day.

In total I got 54 people including eight grown women who will probably not be able to do dangerous work. So I plan to have them cook for the others.

"We start tomorrow morning. The eight of you will help me cook warm porridge for the workers tomorrow." They agreed.

I went back to my old flat to prepare for tomorrow. There is an empty old facility that used to be a factory but was closed down many years ago. I told the ladies to meet me there at 5 in the morning.

For the time being I need to clean it of all the dangers lurking in the shadows. After taking out my sword I make a loud noise banging it on the door frame.

They charged at me with hissing sounds and low growls. I have already secured the area. How?

I made a wall appear from my collection. It has a door that can be opened using a set of keys. Right now it is just me and the creatures in a closed space.

The ghouls here are far more cunning than the ones I have met before. They must have already grown smarter.

The ones I am fighting right now are not coming closer but attacking me with their long tongues. I try to get close but I think they can tell that I am very powerful. In the end I took out an arrow dispenser and shot them on the chest killing them instantly. Why instantly? Because I put little something on the arrow tips that will dissolve ghoul flesh on contact.

"Meet my old new friend." I am not one to waste a chance. In this attack I killed a few ghouls. When I saw their numbers notreducing I took out my now 40 golems and armed them with my arrows.

They didn't last long after that. Tens of ghiuls and infected fought against my small group. The results are as expected. They all died. My golems are similar to puppets but not quite.

They will follow my instructions, they can not make their own decisions unless it is about whether the mission I gave them will be completed effectively or not.

They don't run assimilations or calculations but act in accordance to my instructions. The connection between us is magical and has no logic. But it works and my power grows, I can send the out on independent missions.

For now they all resemble the dolls they used to be. This will become more life like as time goes on, I never got to see the final results at that time but I plan on living a long life this time around.

They don't have stiff bodies. I suppose its like puppetry. Unlike cars that can use diesel they need my power or mana crystals, blood crystals or mana cores. Only I can feed them because they need to be instructed to feed.

I gave them a mana core each and told them to clean this place up And themselves of all the blood after giving them plenty of water and soap.

The mana stone mine is surrounded by a forest and it is within a mountain. Then a short distance is the downtown area. I am going to make a high walls around the area.

Infact, now that I look closely, I can see that it is not that close to down town. Infact, I can make a base and surround that mountain and the surrounding mountains with impenetrable wall.

Being a toy maker that is very close to reaching second form of power I can finish it in two weeks tops. As long as I break the threshold of my power with in these days.

As I am thinking about it I take out a map of the area. I remember that at some point in the future this place will nurture several powerful monsters who will then lead armies to attack humans.

The first to evolve because of this high level mine was a rat king. Nasty fella with tens of thousands of mice in his command. Just thinking about it gives me a headache.

After my golems finished cleaning I took them towards the forest. I can not let them sleep on top of those high level mana stones for a even a second. I left some food and cooking materials for the ladies in case I come back late.
