"Still, can you do it?" Medeia pressed. It wasn't that she didn't care about Vivienne's safety—well, maybe just a little—but if she didn't step up, things would only get worse.
Vivienne hesitated before exhaling softly. "Maybe … I can try to warm one or two rooms for a while," she said, glancing at Seraphina as if seeking permission. "Just for a little while … at least until we get more firewood."
"That's too risky!" Celestine protested. "We don't even know when we'll be able to gather more firewood."
Medeia straightened her posture, her voice steady. "I'll get it within two weeks—no, sooner than that."
Silence fell over the room as all eyes turned to her.
Seraphina hesitated before speaking, her voice laced with concern. "With all due respect, it's not that I doubt you … but this winter is harsher than usual. I don't know if you'll be able to make it to the forest and back in such a short time."
