chapter 3 Forks on the Horizon

Forks on the Horizon

The name "Bella Swan" echoes in my mind like a warning bell, pulling me back into reality. Bella Swan—the Bella Swan. The girl who'll soon meet Edward Cullen, the one whose arrival in Forks changes everything. But this time, I'm not in Forks. I'm in Queens, New York, living a life that belongs to Peter Parker.

Ned keeps talking about Bella, oblivious to the storm brewing in my head. My pulse races as I connect the dots. I was given three wishes by that god-like being: to be a vampire-werewolf progenitor, to find my mate, and to be transmigrated to Twilight's world just before Bella arrives in Forks. But something has gone wrong. Instead of Forks, I'm in Spider-Man's universe. What gives?

System, why am I in Peter Parker's body? I was supposed to be in Forks.

[The transmigration destination was affected by the host's subconscious desire. Forks is part of your journey, but your fate as Peter Parker in this world must unfold first. The two worlds are intertwined.]

I frown, trying to make sense of it all. Intertwined? Does that mean... I'm supposed to meet Bella here? Is she coming to New York instead of Forks?

"Pete? You good?" Ned waves a hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my daze. I realize I've been silent for too long.

"Yeah, yeah, sorry," I say, shaking my head. "Just... thinking about stuff."

Ned laughs. "Probably thinking about Flash, huh? Don't worry about him, man. Gwen's got your back—and so do I."

I smile weakly, though my mind is miles away from Flash Thompson. I need more information. If Bella is coming to New York, and the Twilight universe is somehow merged with this one, things are about to get very interesting. My instincts tell me I have a limited window to figure things out before everything changes.

System, how long until Bella arrives in New York?

[The new girl is scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning at Midtown High. Her presence will trigger significant changes in the timeline. Be prepared.]

Great. So she's not just any transfer student—she's going to Midtown High with me. This day keeps getting weirder. I glance around the bustling cafeteria, the faces of ordinary teenagers laughing and gossiping. They have no idea what's coming. Bella's arrival won't just stir things up—it'll bring the supernatural crashing into this world. And if the Cullen family exists here, too...

I need to prepare.

---

The rest of the school day drags on, each class blurring together as my thoughts whirl. I barely pay attention to my teachers, too busy running over different scenarios in my head. What if Edward is here? What if I end up in the middle of their love triangle? What about the Volturi? The wolves?

By the time the final bell rings, I'm exhausted from all the overthinking. But I can't afford to slow down. I've got powers now—serious powers—and I need to master them before things spiral out of control.

I make my way to an abandoned alley behind the school, a secluded spot where no one's likely to find me. My hands tingle with anticipation as I stretch my fingers. It's time to put these abilities to the test.

System, what's my current power level?

[Current abilities: Spider-sense (enhanced), Super Soldier Serum-enhanced strength and agility. Integration: 22% of 616 Spider-Man template.]

Not bad. I feel the energy coursing through me, my muscles coiled like springs, ready to explode with power. I take a deep breath and leap into the air.

I shoot up higher than I expected, soaring several feet above the ground. Instinctively, I reach out and fire a web from my wrist. It shoots out with precision, sticking to the side of a building. My body swings in a perfect arc, and I land gracefully on a rooftop, barely breaking a sweat.

This. Is. Awesome.

I spend the next hour experimenting, testing my strength, speed, and agility. The Super Soldier Serum has done wonders, making me stronger than I ever thought possible. My punches crack the brick wall of an old warehouse, and my spider-sense warns me of danger long before I even see it.

The city sprawls beneath me as I swing from building to building, feeling more alive than I ever have. I've got the power of a superhero—no, two superheroes—at my fingertips. And tomorrow, the Twilight saga will begin, right here in New York.

---

That night, I lie in bed, staring at the ceiling. Aunt May's already asleep, the house quiet except for the faint hum of the fridge in the kitchen. I can't sleep, though. My mind is racing, thinking about what tomorrow will bring.

Bella Swan. The girl who'll upend the supernatural world. And I'm going to be right in the middle of it.

System, what's the likelihood of the Cullen family being in New York?

[High. Based on the merging of timelines, it is probable that the Cullen family exists in this version of Earth. Their presence may be drawn to Bella upon her arrival.]

So they're here too. I wonder if they've already noticed me. My senses haven't picked up on any other vampires yet, but if they're anything like the ones from the books, they're incredibly skilled at hiding in plain sight.

A wave of excitement surges through me. Vampires, werewolves, and Spider-Man powers—all rolled into one. I grin, thinking about the possibilities. Tomorrow could be the start of something incredible—or incredibly dangerous.

System, any other surprises I should be aware of?

[Potential events include: the arrival of new allies, the activation of hidden powers, and encounters with unknown threats.]

Figures. Nothing can ever be simple. I sigh, turning over in bed.

Tomorrow is going to be insane.
