I’ll Move In

The morning light filtered gently through the soft curtains of the bedroom, casting a golden glow over the room. Outside, the world was just beginning to stir, but inside, everything felt calm. Peaceful.

Alex stirred awake first, the familiar warmth of the bed reminding him where he was. His gaze instinctively shifted toward the other side of the bed, but it was empty.

He sighed, remembering it has always been empty.

He sat up, running a hand through his tousled hair as his heart gave that familiar ache—one that only seemed to grow stronger with each passing day.

Careful not to disturb the quiet of the house, he pushed back the covers and rose to his feet, his bare footsteps quiet against the wooden floor as he padded toward her room.
