Damion..?

Jess's gaze was so intense that Zeke almost felt a shiver run down his spine.

He could have felt very intimidated by him if he himself wasn't already a prince who commanded power and respect.

Even Jess, with his commanding demeanor, seems to be challenging him, pushing him to meet his intense gaze.

But Zeke knew that if he matched Jess's intense gaze with his own, the room might actually become too cold for a human being to stay and breathing would become very difficult. He was, after all, a being with extraordinary abilities.

So, Zeke simply smiled it off, deciding not to engage in a battle of wills. Besides, he had no problem with Jess, who was just a brother trying to look out for him.

He didn't need to scare him away or flex his overbearing powers.

Zeke's smile was a deliberate attempt to diffuse the tension, to show Jess that he was harmless.

"What's wrong, Jess?" Zeke asked, trying to sound casual. "You're staring at me like you can see right through me."

"I wish I can" Jess sighed and said, he almost looked like he would pout and that caused Zeke to laugh.

"Well you got any plan for today?" Zeke asked

"What plans? It's night already... Let's have dinner" Jess said while turning to go to the dinning and Flynn held his hand to lead him out.

"You know what.. just leave him, I'd take it up from here" Zeke said to Flynn as he took Jess's hand from Flynn and led him out.

Flynn bowed slightly and retired back to his room, Zeke's curious gaze lingered on his back for a moment before his vision disappeared from sight.

As they walked to the dining room, Zeke couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Jess's behavior had been a little odd since he got back, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

They sat down at the table, and Zeke began to serve himself from the dishes in front of them. Jess, on the other hand, simply sat there, his hands folded in his lap.

"Jess, is everything okay?" Zeke asked, trying to break the silence.

Jess nodded, but didn't say anything. Zeke sighed inwardly. Can't he just say it? Something was definitely wrong and it must be about him.

Just as they were about to start eating, a maid came in and whispered something in Jess's ear. Jess's expression changed, and he looked at Zeke with a serious gaze.

"Damion, I need to talk to you about something," Jess said, his voice low and serious.

Zeke's heart skipped a beat. What was going on? Did they already discover he wasn't Damion?

"What is it, Brother Jess?" Zeke asked, trying to sound calm.

But before Jess could answer, the maid came in again, this time with a phone in her hand.

"Mr. Klot, it's your step mother. She's calling again," the maid said, holding out the phone.

Jess's expression turned cold, and he took the phone from the maid.

"I'll take it," Jess said, his voice firm.

Zeke watched as Jess listened to his mother's voice on the phone, his expression growing darker by the second.

Jess dropped the phone and looked at Zeke before he quietly spoke, "Your mother wants you to come back home."

Zeke looked confused for a bit before he answered, "She wants me to come back? I'm certainly not going to go back to that house."

"But she's serious this time around," Jess responded, his expression very serious. "She said she'd come here and fetch you herself if you're not back by the end of the week."

Zeke rolled his eyes and said, "You know what, let's just forget about that. If that's the reason you're worried, then you don't have to be, because I'm not going anywhere, and she's not going to do anything about it."

Jess kept quiet for a while before he nodded and said, "I'll see what I can do about that. As far as you don't want to go back, then I'll try my best to make sure you remain here."

"I will call her later this week and let her know that she should just let me be" Zeke said and they continued eating in silence.

After dinner, they sat down to converse, their discussion meandering through various topics. They talked about the company, sharing stories about its growth and the challenges it faced.

Zeke took advantage of the relaxed atmosphere to ask Jess questions indirectly about most human activities and how life worked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

Jess found some of the questions a little off but nevertheless, he made sure to answer every of his questions, after all the quite loved that Damion was for the time in many years, having a good conversation with him and asking questions that were not about the most beautiful models in the entertainment industry or things of that sort.

He probed Jess about his experiences with investors, seeking advice on how to navigate the complex web of business relationships.

Jess shared his insights, recounting stories of triumph and setback. Zeke listened intently, fascinated by the way Jess had grown the company into the successful entity it was today.

As the discussion continued, Zeke found himself drawn to Jess's accounts of overcoming adversity.

He asked about Jess's journey to success, particularly how he'd managed to thrive despite the challenges posed by his mother's illness.

Jess's responses were candid and inspiring, offering a glimpse into the resilience and determination that had driven him to achieve his goals.
