Alex raised himself slightly as Avery helped him up. He was lying on his back now.
" I will bring the tray to you," Avery exclaimed.
Alex held her wrist before she could walk away, and he looked at her tenderly.
" Just help me to the sofa," he suggested.
She nodded before Alex placed his masculine hand around her neck, and she placed her hand around his waist. The right angle, not far from his wound. Every step sent a shivering pain through his wound. This wouldn't be the first time he got injured but it hurt like hell when he thought of the reason.
Alex could smell her shampoo from her head. He turned his gaze to stare at her but Avery had a serious look on. He chuckled when he thought of the past. Her angry face when he bombarded her with work. She was his secretary and now she has his last name. She might hate him now but he'd prove to her, he did everything for her good.
Avery helped him gently on the sofa. The tray is in front of them.
" Open up,"
Alex flinched when he heard her voice and when the spoon was right in front of his lips.
"You're going to feed me?" he asked in a hoarse voice.
" Yes, any problem?"
Avery furrowed her brows. He got hurt because of her, the only thing she could do now was feed him, after all, she cooked this so it wasn't a big deal.
Alex opened up, and the porridge felt warm and sweet on his tongue.
" You prepared this?" he asked with beaming eyes.
He could feel the butterflies flying in his tummy.
" I did,"
Avery scooped porridge from the bowl, ready to feed the big man beside her. She looked at him and a smile crept on her lips. Why was he acting all giddy? It was just porridge she used to take when she wasn't feeling well.
" Can you cook, porridge for me, always?"
Avery stared at him. He looked adorable. She snapped out of her thoughts when Alex opened his mouth.
" You need to rest now."
Avery said as she got up from the sofa. She places the empty bowl down before facing Alex.
" C-can you stay. I would love it if you stayed with me." he stuttered.
He knew he was asking too much, however, he'd seen the way she smiled at him when she was feeding him. A lot happened yesterday and he knew she'd hate him now. But that smile he saw on her face was genuine and he wanted every bit of it.
Avery fidgeted with her finger before she agreed to stay. He helped her friend, right? Because if he and the guys, Suzzy would be getting married to Pablo. And she couldn't be with Samuel. That was the excuse she could come up with. She helped him to his bed, and she covered him with the duvet. She pondered what she was going to do. She couldn't sit on the sofa all afternoon. And also she didn't get a good sleep last night. She lifted the other side of the duvet before slipping in. She turned to the other side, and her back faced Alex.
