The Battle

As Gu Tian was guiding Xiao Bai into his spiritual domain, the sudden ringing of his phone interrupted him. He glanced at the screen and saw his mother's name, Guang Yue. A slight smile appeared on his lips before he answered the call. His mother's voice came through immediately, laced with a hint of irritation.

"Where are you? It's already three in the afternoon!"

Gu Tian let out a soft chuckle before replying, "Sorry, Mom. I completely forgot. I'll head out right now."

After hanging up, Gu Tian quickly sent Xiao Bai into his spiritual domain, a space he had personally created and named "The Realm of Chaos." He then hurriedly changed his clothes and left his laboratory.

In the central courtyard of the Gu Clan estate, the atmosphere was tense. A large group of people had gathered, including members of the Black Rose Guild, who had previously been captured but were now released at Meng Lin's request. Among them were Ye Feng and Li Juan, both standing amidst the guild members.

Li Juan, still seething with anger, looked around the Gu estate with clear disdain. She hated everything about this place, the aura, the surroundings, even the very air itself.

At that moment, Guang Yue stepped out, accompanied by Meng Lin. The moment the members of Black Rose Guild saw their leader, they immediately called out in concern.

"Leader! Are you alright?"

"Did you get hurt anywhere?"

Voices filled with worry echoed throughout the courtyard. Meanwhile, Li Juan crossed her arms and spoke in a mocking tone.

"Did that old witch do anything to you? Or maybe she forced you to eat some kind of poison that could kill a person instantly?"

As soon as those words left her lips, Guang Yue calmly walked up to Li Juan and gently placed a hand on her head. A warm smile curved on her lips, but beneath it lay an unmistakable sense of intimidation.

"What was that you just said, little girl?"

Realizing she had just made a grave mistake, Li Juan froze on the spot. She quickly bowed and stammered out an apology.

"I-I'm sorry!"

Meng Lin let out a small chuckle before addressing everyone. "I'm fine now, everyone. And also—"

Before she could finish her sentence, an overwhelming pressure suddenly descended from the sky, pressing down on everyone in the courtyard. The entire area was enveloped by a terrifying force, and a loud voice boomed from above.

The sky over the Gu Clan estate was cast into shadow as a massive, ominous figure loomed overhead. Everyone instinctively looked up, only to see the silhouette of a colossal black whale floating high above. The oppressive aura of a Diamond-rank Beast radiated through the air, while a commanding voice thundered from the man standing atop the beast's back.

"I am Captain Lu Wentai, an officer of the Central Government Police! I hereby authorize an investigation and the arrest of the entire Gu Clan for the crimes of slander and endangering gifted children!"

His voice echoed across the entire city, sending a wave of suffocating pressure down below. The members of Black Rose Guild began trembling, and even Ye Feng wore a concerned expression.

Yet, amidst the crushing force, Guang Yue remained unfazed. She casually waved her hand, erecting a protective barrier around the people in the courtyard. Then, she chuckled softly and spoke with an amused yet mocking tone.

"The Central Government Police seem to be getting more idiotic by the day. Not to mention more power-hungry…"

Just then, another icy voice rang out from another part of the sky.

"Captain Lu Wentai, may I ask what evidence you have to justify the arrest of the Gu Clan?"

All eyes immediately turned toward the source of the voice, revealing Su Baicheng, a tall man clad in silver robes hovering a short distance away from Lu Wentai's black whale. He sat atop a pitch-black steed, his crimson eyes glowing like those of a demon lurking in the night.

Lu Wentai glared at Su Baicheng with sharp eyes before speaking in a mocking tone.

"This is not your jurisdiction. Stand down, Lieutenant Su Baicheng!"

Su Baicheng simply smirked and replied casually.

"Hmm… I see. I guess I have to agree with Madam Gu now. Those who have just been fitted with new collars by the Central Government seem to be barking louder and louder these days."

The moment Su Baicheng finished speaking, a massive surge of power radiated from both sides. Their overwhelming pressure collided midair, creating a violent storm of energy that made the ground tremble.

Guang Yue watched the confrontation between the two with amusement. She recalled what her son, Gu Tian, had once told her about the Central Government.

Although the Central Government's leadership was supposedly chosen through a voting system across various cities, the truth was that it was actually controlled by the Ten Sacred Clans, the true power behind the scenes.

The Central Government was never truly united. Instead, it was divided into factions, each vying for its own interests.

"That young man, Ye Feng, must be the one Lu Wentai is trying to protect," Guang Yue muttered to herself. She didn't know the full details of Ye Feng's background, but it was clear that he was not an ordinary person.

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted midair. The entire sky trembled as the overwhelming power of both sides clashed fiercely. The battle unfolded at such an incredible speed that the ordinary onlookers could barely follow.

Then, in the blink of an eye, one figure crashed violently into the ground.

Crack!

Lu Wentai's body was slammed into the ground, completely overpowered. His hands trembled in shock, and the arrogance in his eyes had been replaced with sheer terror. He struggled to move but found himself utterly immobilized.

"H-how…? How can you be this strong? No… your level is—"

Before he could finish his sentence, his consciousness faded, and he fell completely unconscious.

Su Baicheng stood above him with a cold smile. "Apologies for the commotion in Rainfall City."

Guang Yue, who had been watching the scene, smiled and responded, "It's fine. Getting rid of one corrupt officer is always a good thing."

The two exchanged glances before parting ways. Su Baicheng vanished into the wind, taking the unconscious Lu Wentai with him.

Atop a towering building

A sudden system notification echoed in the air.

[Ding!! Congratulations, Host! You have successfully prevented a 'Child of Destiny' from being rescued. Host has gained 10,000 Villain Points.]

A young man sitting on the edge of the skyscraper sneered before scoffing in irritation.

"Only 10,000 points? You give me this much and expect me to be satisfied? What, am I supposed to wipe my ass with it?"

The system's voice sounded with a tone of grievance.

[Host, that was too harsh… System is hurt, you know?]

The young man, Wu Shuang, Gu Tian's closest friend, chuckled softly before standing up. He gazed down at the Gu Clan estate below and muttered to himself.
