Chapter 285: Your Words Hurt Her

The Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python caught the scent of the pill in Mu Chen's hand, its glowing eyes brimming with desire like a child spotting candy. It ceased struggling, captivated by the fragrant lure.

Mu Chen smirked, withdrawing his soul power. He watched as the python eagerly devoured the pill in one gulp.

Chirp!

The python let out a satisfied cry but seemed far from satiated, nudging Mu Chen's palm as if pleading for more.

"Come with me," Mu Chen said. "If you do, pills like these will be as common as beans for you."

The little python tilted its head, seeming to understand. It slithered up Mu Chen's arm, curling onto his chest and settling comfortably.

Just then, a melodious voice interrupted the quiet. "Was that... the Queen just now?"

Mu Chen turned to see Hua She'er, the captain of Medusa's guards, stepping onto the island. Behind her were several elderly women, clearly the elders of the serpent tribe.

"Yes," Mu Chen nodded. "But she's not quite herself. I'll be taking her away from here."

"Taking the Queen away?" Hua She'er frowned deeply.

"Yes. Though this is the heart of the serpent tribe, internal struggles for power still exist. Your queen, while successfully evolved, has a damaged soul and is currently being suppressed by the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python. What you saw just now wasn't your queen but the python taking control," Mu Chen explained.

Hua She'er's expression turned solemn. "Even so, as long as I live, I'll protect the Queen."

"I have no doubts about your loyalty," Mu Chen reassured her. "But your Queen is my lover. For her safety, she must stay with me. Rest assured, I'll return in three years. Until then, I entrust you and the elders to oversee the serpent tribe."

One of the elders hesitated before stepping forward. "Young man, we understand your reasoning, but the tribe cannot function without our Queen."

"She entrusted me with this decision," Mu Chen said with a sly grin. "And for the record, before her evolution, she and I consummated our relationship."

The revelation sent ripples of shock through the group. Hua She'er and the elders exchanged uneasy glances, clearly uncertain about Mu Chen's claim.

"This isn't just my decision," Mu Chen continued. "It's her wish. Before her evolution, she expressed her desire to explore other realms."

The elder sighed, nodding reluctantly. "Very well. In three years, we will await your return with the Queen."

Mu Chen nodded, satisfied. "Good. I'll take my leave now."

"So soon?" Hua She'er asked, a tinge of reluctance in her voice.

"Yes. Is there something else?" Mu Chen asked, noticing her troubled expression.

After a moment's hesitation, Hua She'er recounted a recent issue: one of the serpent tribe's factions had encountered a human intruder. Despite their leader, Yue Mei—a Dou Wang—facing the intruder, she was defeated in a single move. What made it worse was that the intruder was only at the Dou Ling level.

Hua She'er's request was simple: resolve this problem before departing.

Curious, Mu Chen agreed and followed her to Yue Mei's faction, a journey that took an entire day.

Upon arrival, they found Yue Mei leading a group of serpent warriors, locked in pursuit of the intruder.

"Hua She'er, you're finally here! Where's the Queen?" Yue Mei called out. Her silky black hair framed a face of seductive beauty, her curvaceous figure radiating feminine allure. Her bewitching eyes, shimmering with a hint of playfulness, could rival those of Ya Fei or Hu Liena.

Her gaze shifted to Mu Chen, her brows furrowing with hostility. "A human?"

"This is Mu Chen," Hua She'er introduced. "He helped the Queen obtain the Heavenly Flame. I brought him to resolve your issue."

Yue Mei's skepticism was evident as she sized up Mu Chen. "You're certain about him?"

"Yes," Hua She'er affirmed.

Before Yue Mei could protest further, a surprised voice called out, "Mu Chen?!"

Mu Chen turned toward the intruder and was equally astonished. "Bibi Dong?!"

The woman before him was graceful and ethereal, clad in a pristine white gown that hugged her lithe figure. Her flawless skin glowed under the sunlight, her aura exuding an air of nobility and tranquility.

Mu Chen stared, his mind racing. The troublemaker causing issues for the serpent tribe turned out to be none other than Bibi Dong, the former Pope of the Spirit Hall. Despite her rebirth and departure from the Douluo Continent, her elegance and majesty remained unchanged.

"You two know each other?" Hua She'er asked, her surprise evident.

Mu Chen nodded, his gaze flickering to Yue Mei. He knew Bibi Dong's spiritual strength rivaled a Tian state grandmaster. Even if her Dou Qi level was mediocre, Yue Mei, as a Dou Wang, was no match.

"It's been a while," Mu Chen said.

"Indeed," Bibi Dong replied coolly.

"Dou Ling level? That's surprising," Mu Chen said, his tone curious.

"I've had a few fortuitous encounters since we last met," Bibi Dong replied tersely.

"I see. Can I ask a favor?" Mu Chen said, his voice softening.

"What is it?" Bibi Dong asked.

"This is my lover's territory, and these people are her subordinates. Could you stop causing them trouble?" Mu Chen asked gently.

Bibi Dong's gaze turned complicated, a flicker of pain in her eyes. His words seemed to cut deep, implying blame she didn't deserve.

"It's your lover's territory. I'll leave," Bibi Dong said, her tone faint but resigned. With a flick of her back, nine radiant wings unfurled, carrying her into the sky in a dazzling arc of multicolored light.

"So soon? We barely spoke..." Mu Chen muttered, a tinge of regret in his voice.

Turning back to Hua She'er and Yue Mei, he said, "I'm leaving now."

Internally, he issued a command to the system. System, initiate multiverse traversal and construct the dimensional gate.
