Chapter 295: Subduing Xiaobai

"Yes, what defines a demon, and what defines evil?" Mu Chen continued to ask.

"A demon? Evil?" Xiaobai murmured again, her eyes filled with deep confusion.

"Disregarding all life, taking innocent lives indiscriminately—that's evil. Acting with malice—that's what makes one a demon. It's not about appearances or lineage. It's about the heart. Even if someone isn't human, as long as they possess integrity and righteousness, they're neither a demon nor evil."

As Mu Chen spoke, he knelt down, gazing deeply into Xiaobai's eyes. "Xiaobai, don't be afraid. As long as I'm here, I won't let anyone hurt you. If anyone dares to hunt you under the guise of vanquishing demons, they'll have to step over my dead body."

Xiaobai stared at Mu Chen, deeply moved by his words. She threw her arms around him, holding him tightly.

"Xiaobai!" Mu Chen exclaimed, surprised.

Hearing his call, Xiaobai let go and looked into his eyes. Her gaze was tender and filled with affection. As if forgetting Xiaoqing's presence nearby, she reached out with her slender, jade-like fingers and gently caressed Mu Chen's chiseled face.

"Xiaobai!" Mu Chen's heart skipped a beat.

Xiaobai remained silent, locking eyes with him. Her breathing grew faster, her heart pounding. As memories of their time together flooded her mind, she leaned closer and pressed her lips to Mu Chen's.

"This…" Mu Chen's eyes widened. He silently marveled at how happiness had arrived so suddenly.

Not one to resist, Mu Chen reciprocated, wrapping his arms around Xiaobai as they shared a passionate kiss.

After what seemed like an eternity, Xiaobai finally pulled back, resting her head on his chest. For the first time in her life, she experienced the joys of intimacy.

Yet, as thoughts of her identity as a snake demon returned, along with the ominous inscription on the sword, anxiety crept into her heart. How long could she savor such happiness? What if one day she fell victim to demon hunters wielding swords of justice?

Consumed by these fears, Xiaobai made a bold decision. She would give the most precious part of herself to Mu Chen now. That way, even if death came for her, she would have no regrets.

With this resolve, Xiaobai tightened her embrace around Mu Chen, stood up, and began unbuttoning her dress.

"Xiaobai!" Mu Chen was taken aback. "Actually, with my abilities, you don't have to worry about those demon-hunting—"

"Don't speak," Xiaobai interrupted, placing a finger on his lips. Silencing him, she gently pushed him down to the ground, slowly lowering herself onto him.

"Ding!"

"Congratulations! You've received Xiaobai's most precious gift. Rewards: 500,000 True Qi points and a lottery ticket."

"Ding!"

"Congratulations! True Qi has reached the threshold for leveling up. Current Qi cultivation level: 45 (Mid Nascent Soul Stage, 200/182,250)."

Level 45? Xiaobai's union with Mu Chen had elevated his Qi cultivation level by three full levels, from 42 to 45.

"I can't believe this—Sister is so bold," thought Xiaoqing, who had unexpectedly regained consciousness.

She lay there, eyes wide in shock, watching Xiaobai and Mu Chen's intimate moment.

Neither Xiaobai nor Mu Chen noticed her. They remained absorbed in their newfound closeness.

Once Xiaoqing regained her composure, she quickly closed her eyes, pretending to remain unconscious. Given the situation, what else could she do?

However, curiosity got the better of her, and she peeked through her lashes, stealing glances at the couple.

An hour later, Xiaobai and Mu Chen finished dressing.

"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" Xiaobai asked, kneeling beside Xiaoqing with concern.

"Are you trying to come up with an excuse to open your eyes?" Mu Chen teased, smiling slyly.

"What do you mean?" Xiaobai asked, puzzled.

"It's simple. She's awake but pretending to be unconscious," Mu Chen replied with a smirk.

"Pretending?" Xiaobai was taken aback. She scrutinized Xiaoqing closely. Upon closer inspection, she noticed the faint blush on Xiaoqing's face and her rapid breathing—hardly the signs of someone truly unconscious.

"When did you realize?" Xiaoqing asked, opening her eyes reluctantly.

"The moment you woke up," Mu Chen replied confidently.

"You knew and didn't say anything?" Xiaoqing was incredulous.

"Come on. Given the situation, even if the house were on fire, I wouldn't have stopped," Mu Chen quipped mischievously.

"Ugh!" Xiaoqing groaned, caught off guard.

"Ugh!" Xiaobai, too, was left speechless.

This revelation meant Xiaoqing had witnessed everything. Xiaobai's face turned crimson, like a ripe apple.

"Xiaoqing, did you find an exit?" Xiaobai asked hastily, trying to change the subject.

"Yes, follow me," Xiaoqing replied, standing up and leading the way.

"Wait!" Mu Chen called out.

"What now?" Xiaobai asked, turning to him.

"There's still a treasure here I haven't claimed," Mu Chen said.

"A treasure? What treasure?"

Xiaobai and Xiaoqing looked around, finding nothing noteworthy.

"This!" Mu Chen pointed to the golden skeleton before them.

"That?" The sisters were confused.

"Exactly. This golden skeleton belonged to no ordinary being. Its remains are an extraordinary treasure," Mu Chen explained.

"You want to take its skeleton?" Xiaoqing asked, frowning.

"Yes," Mu Chen nodded.

"It's already dead, and you won't even spare its bones?" Xiaoqing's tone turned disdainful.

"Precisely because it's dead, we must not waste its remains. Absorbing the energy within will give its existence new meaning," Mu Chen said, summoning a black-and-white flame in his palm.

"What is that?" Xiaoqing asked, her brow furrowing.

"An exotic flame: Yin-Yang Dual Flame," Mu Chen replied. Without further explanation, he channeled his True Qi, causing the flame to expand and engulf the massive golden skeleton.
