
Jacob Anderson is a 16-year-old boy, tall and slim, with jet-black hair and brown eyes, who attends high school alongside his two best friends, Axl and Anne. Though they are not popular and face discrimination, their friendship is a source of strength and comfort. Axl, an easygoing Afro-Dominican, is the jokester of the group, while Anne, sarcastic yet kind-hearted, secretly harbors a deep love for Jacob, her best friend.

Jacob's life takes a turn when Emily Green, his new neighbor, arrives. A beautiful yet melancholic girl, Emily captivates Jacob but conceals a sorrowful secret. As Jacob becomes drawn to Emily’s mystery, Anne struggles with her jealousy but chooses to help him support Emily, even if it means losing his attention.

Amidst secrets, unrequited love, and the pain of the past, the three friends must navigate the emotional trials of adolescence as they try to discover what truly matters in their lives.



Intertwined Destinies

I couldn’t help but feel the air grow thicker as I watched the connection between Emily and Jacob. Ever since I arrived at high school, I had always felt a strong bond with Jacob. His warmth and ability to listen were qualities I found in no one else. But now, with Emily by his side, that closeness felt threatened. 


As I did homework with Axl in the library, my mind filled with doubt and anxiety. Jacob smiled at Emily in a way he never had with me. His eyes shone with a light that seemed only for her, and I wondered if it was just an illusion, a paranoia that plagued me. 


I tried to focus on the conversation with Axl, but my thoughts drifted to what had changed in Jacob since Emily had arrived. I reminded myself that I had been his friend long before she had shown up, but insecurity began to creep into every corner of my mind.
