The Awakening

For a while, screams echoed from every direction, accompanied by the deafening crashes of walls being shattered. The creaking of bones neither lessened nor paused. On the contrary, it felt as though the number of monsters was gradually increasing, their presence spreading across the building’s three floors.

The scent of blood began to seep into every corner, even in places where no one had been killed. It was as if some of the monsters were dragging bodies somewhere. Admetos, Eudora, and Nestor frequently heard the sound of corpses being dragged through the hallways, mingling with the clash of the creatures' bones.

The flickering lights cast an even more nightmarish glow over the already desperate situation. In silence, the trio crouched in the corner of the last stall in the second-floor men’s bathroom. Every noise, every faint creak, was enough to put them on high alert, their claws instinctively extending.

"Are you okay?" Eudora whispered. "It looked like it broke."
