“Almost over…” Alyia sighed as she sat down on the sofa.
“Yeah… but I still have a special treat!” Lior replied.
Veins bulged at her temples, even as she tried to stay calm. Staring at the bright television screen, it was obvious they weren’t on the same page.
“You two… I thought I told you to train.”
“We are training… it’s a cognition drill.”
“You little—!”
An apple struck him, and his concentration broke. Lior watched in disbelief as his puppet’s attack missed its mark.
“Seriously?!” he exclaimed, grabbing the apple from mid-air. “I could have won—!? Huh…? This must be something really impressive to have a test like this.”
“Indeed,” Alyia said. “It transforms your body with a single bite.”
She tossed another apple aside. Teodoro appeared, sat next to her, and caught it.
“This is ridiculous,” he muttered, taking a bite. “But it does taste good…”
