A groan slipped from the raider's lips as she lay bound and unmoving on the cold ground. Her eyelids fluttered open, hazy vision struggling to focus. A tuft of orange fur filled her view, beady eyes watching her intently. She fought to hold onto her consciousness, torn between the pull of sleep and the strange reality before her.
A faint blue glow appeared above, and a sudden splash of cold water hit her face. A sharp shriek escaped her as she jerked upright, only to slam the back of her head against the tree she was tied to. The small fox that had been staring at her let out a mischievous giggle before darting away, jumping onto the indigo-haired man's shoulder, his back still turned to her.
