Not Sure What To Talk About

Carter and Kokomi strolled side by side through the lively streets of Melaka town. The town was alive with a warm, bustling energy, the golden glow of streetlights bouncing off the cobblestones as the last rays of sunlight disappeared behind the skyline. The mingling scents of street food and blooming flowers from roadside vendors filled the air, creating an intoxicating aroma that perfectly complemented the evening buzz.

Kokomi glanced at Carter, her eyes darting to the white cane he moved deftly ahead of him. Her curiosity gnawed at her, but she hesitated to voice it. *What if he’s uncomfortable?* she thought, biting her lip. But the silence between them felt heavier than her hesitation. She decided to take the plunge.

“So… can I ask about your, um, cane?” she ventured, her voice tentative.

Carter smirked, already sensing her hesitation. “You already did. Go ahead and ask the rest.”
