Welcome to Italy!

NALEDI’S POV

I sighed in contentment as I turned around the feathery bed.

It’s been a while since I had such a comfortable rest. My bed felt like a stone compared to this. My eyes flew open one second after my thoughts.

I jolted up the bed, eyes searching my unfamiliar surroundings. This was not my room. I felt queasy as soon as I got on my feet which told me one thing.

I was on a plane.

I rushed to the window and pushed the curtain over. We were a few thousand feet from the ground, just like I expected. My memory bounced back and I remembered the shit I was into.

That good-for-nothing bastard tricked me!

I rushed to the door, turned it and realised I was locked in. Just great. I was getting kidnapped by my mate.

Using all the powers within me, I pushed the door, banging and hoping I could draw the attention of someone, anyone. I didn’t have a gun with me, they had stripped me of everything, so I had to rely on my skills.

But first, I needed to be sure how many men I was up against, and where I was being carted to. I continued my assault, banging and hitting the door with a resilient attitude.

I must have hit the jackpot because four minutes into my banging act, the door flung open and I was met with an irritated, red-eyed Caellum. I stepped back, taking him in.

He was bare-chested and now, I could see the tattoo on his body. It was a lion. One that ran from the end part of his neck, down to his muscular chest. His pants hung dangerously low on his waist and he looked like a sin.

If I didn’t know what a douchebag he was, and how his father had brutally killed my family and pack, I might have jumped his bones. Heavy on the might, because I didn’t like domineering and arrogant pricks.

Which was my perception of him. He was bad news.

“Will you shut it? I’m trying to get some shut eyes.” His voice was thick, irritated and heavy with sleep.

Oh really? They had fallen asleep while they locked me up here, taking me to God knows where. “Where am I?” I asked with a tone just as rude.

“You are on a plane.” He said it like he was explaining things to a clueless little child.

I didn’t like that.

“Where are you taking me to?” My question was met with a roll of eyes.

Alpha Caellum turned around and before I could utter a word, my body moved on instinct and I delivered a spin kick which he dodged without breaking a sweat.

He turned around with a petrifying look on his face. There and then, I knew I stepped over the line.

Within seconds, four men in suits walked inside, holding machine guns in readiness to defend their Alpha. I stepped back, unable to speak, as I sized up the men before me.

They couldn’t shoot. Not when we were on a plane and I could easily escape their mark - Except they were trained assassins incapable of missing their shots.

I was toast!

“Get out.” Caellum suddenly spoke and I felt my heart cut.

Did he want to throw me out of the plane?

“I said get out!” His tone was harder, and the men filed out of the room, leaving me alone with him.

The door closed and before I could speak, Caellum took three long strides towards me, pushed me to the wall, and left no space between us.

I sucked in a breath, finding it difficult to function in such a close range with him. Caellum didn’t utter a word, but I could tell he was angry. His eyes were sleep-deprived and a frown marred his face.

That wasn’t all.

Being so close to him made the sparks come alive. I fell into a love-hate relationship with the sparks immediately. It made me feel so weak around him, so needy.

It didn’t help that It’s been a long time since I had any action and I could feel his hardon pressed against me. I could feel every part of his body, and that drove me crazy with need.

I needed to get away from him.

One move and it was worse. His growing erection made me disgusted as well as proud. Confusing feelings cluttered my mind space and I knew that was what he’d intended because the next second, a cold gun barrel was placed on my head.

What was with his flipping emotions? One minute ago, he was rubbing his hard-on over me and the next, he was trying to kill me. So unstable.

I stiffened, knowing I couldn’t put it past him to pull that trigger. What were the odds that it was carrying a real bullet? I didn’t want to find out. If there was one thing I’d learned from my years of working in the underworld, it was never to underestimate anyone.

Anything could happen at any time. And I’d be damned if I let myself get killed without avenging my family.

“How would you feel if you got killed by the weapon you favoured, mia cara?” He asked, pressing the gun on my head.

I felt anger burn in my heart. “You already know I’d rather die than be your mate.” I spat and I felt the gun press harder. “You’ll be doing a fucking favour killing me, Alpha.”

Caelum scoffed. Was that a hint of a smile I saw?

“Trust me, mia cara.” He said, getting serious. “I’d love to get rid of you and end this madness but I can’t do that.” I didn’t think it was possible to get closer but he did. “Seeing you are my mate, and my wolf might go crazy with you not being by my side, you must stay alive.” He said. “Until the bond is broken.”

I didn’t miss the meaning behind his words. He was keeping me alive so he didn’t have to deal with his wolf. Why did I feel stung at his selfish admission? What exactly did I expect from the son of the devil?

I snapped. “So what? You plan to-”

“Welcome to Italy.” A voiceover said in the plane, cutting me short. “We are landing-”

Before I could get the name of exactly where we were landing, Caellum pulled the trigger and a pin shot into my head. It was another one of his sedatives. Just when will he get to pull the real thing?

My eyes became heavy, and I fell asleep in his arms.
