Defiled by my people

CAELLUM’S POV

The men I trusted with Naledi brought reports on how badly behaved my mate had been.

Demanding audience with me, insulting them and flat out asking to be let go. There was no news of her repentance or reflection on the sin she committed.

Instead, I heard endless complaints, refusal to eat and yelling matches. After returning from a business meeting with Matteo, I decided to meet with Naledi.

Perhaps knock some senses into her and negotiate the terms of her release, depending on how she behaved. I wasn’t a forgiving man and I had every plan to make her regret pulling a gun on me but that would be sorted in time.

I got out of the car and went straight to the prison with Matteo walking closely behind me. I walked in and headed to her cell; strangely, the gates were empty of guards.

Matteo answered my hidden thoughts. “It’s time for lunch. They should be feeding the prisoners at this point.”
