NALEDI’S POV
“I heard you killed two of my guards,” Draken said, flipping through a book with a serene look on his face.
I never thought I’d see the day.
I poured his tea into a cup and handed it over to him. “I made rid of weeds that would be a problem to the business,” I replied in a calm tone, pouring myself some tea too.
“Explain.”
He was yet to meet my eyes. I couldn’t tell if he was angry. He gave no cues, nothing at all. The only reason I was still seated beside him and pouring myself a cup of tea was because he couldn’t walk.
There was only so much he could do in his state. I dared to think I could deal properly with him if push came to shove. Thunder rattled the windows as the rain increased.
“Those men were using the women to satisfy their primal urges,” I state, drinking a cup of my tea afterwards.
“And why is that so bad?”
I wasn’t surprised. Not the littlest bit.
