Chapter Fifty-Two: Letting The Devil In

Piper’s POV

There's a gentle tap of the door.

Subconsciously setting down my phone, I go to get it and instantly stop on my spot with my hand on the doorknob.

What the hell are you doing?!

My brain jars me into a strong sense of security.

I'm in a strange place and no one is supposed to know of my whereabouts, save Avery. She didn't inform me of her visit, so who is behind the door?

Avery isn't stupid enough to pay you a visit, unannounced.

“Hello?”

A male voice calls from the other side.

It's strange.

“Dear Lord.”

I whisper.

This has to be the time I prayed for the first time in a year.

I'm about to go crazy with the wild imagination eating me deep.

The possibility that Orion has eventually found my hideout, slams me hard.

What if he isn't here for fun? Like he broke into my house the previous time and made a mess of my things?

What if he hurts me? What if he is here for revenge?

“Oh, no.”
