Chapter Seventy-Four: Spell Bound

Avery’s POV

“Hey dear.”

The sound of Thane’s voice from the speaker pulls me forward as I sit up in bed.

My hands go up to my face lazily, with my limbs sprawled apart, and my fingers dancing all over my face and hair.

“I guess you're still sleepy.”

“I'm good.”

I lie through gritted teeth, even though my voice is as lazy as a child’s.

“Do you prefer Dr. Cain to come over?” He asks calmly.

What's with the change of plans? I question in my head, too tired to get my thoughts together.

Usually, I go to the clinic during my days of appointment, and not the other way around. Despite the second option being the most comfortable and best, I rather use my hospital appointment as a means to escape the boredom of this house.

“Is something going on in the clinic?”

My question is dumb as crap.

I guess I am, most mornings I wake up on the lazy side of the bed.

“Nothing, except that it's 10 AM.”

What?!
