Avery's POV
“Say something.”
At this point, Piper is impatient. She waits for me to answer her keenly, after asking the same question for the umpteenth time.
“Avery?”
She leans closer, but not so much, expecting my privacy.
I, on the other hand, I'm in the most shock of my life, with my mouth a gap. I can stake my life on this, that Orion will be the death of me.
“Av-” She sighs. “Give it to me.”
Changing her mind, she swiftly snatches my phone from my grip, if only she knew that I'm too stunned to battle for the phone with her, she wouldn't waste such energy in trying to grab it.
“What the fuck?”
She scoffs, as she zooms the text message on the screen, trying to see all of it, as though it will make any more sense.
“What in the fuck is wrong with this moron?”
She groans, trying to find the right expression.
“Is he dumb?”
She questions rhetorically, raking her hand through her hair, as she grabs a handful, and laments bitterly.
