Chapter Ninety-Four: Doesnt Feel Right

Piper’s POV

“Something is wrong.”

I spring to my feet, almost knocking down the plate of leftover pancakes.

“What is it?”

Nelson demands abruptly.

Protective to a fault, or perhaps scared about my safety, especially since I was abducted not so long, I get the reason for his agitated state.

Not getting a response at the time needed, he holds my shoulder and slightly turns me to himself.

“It's Avery.”

“Oh, no.”

His voice genuinely holds panic, and it's also written all over his face.

“Did something happen to her or the baby?”

Keeping the questions rolling, he almost bores me to death. His hands are still firm on my shoulders and it squeezes gently, a gentle reminder that he's waiting.

“Not in that sense.”

I manage a response, still keeping a sad expression.

“Okay? Where is she?” He doesn't stop. “Does she need our presence?”

“I think so… Yeah, she does.”

“What are we waiting for? Let's go.” He urges me. “Where is she?”
