Chapter Ninety-Six: Trapped In Your Mistake

Avery’s POV

Break the rule.

No, don't!

A series of nasty options comes to my head.

I’m ripped apart and shattered from the revelation, but there's barely anything I can do than sulk.

‘Think, Avery! Think!’

Spinning in futile circles, my mind is on the run, in a deep search for answers that I may not be able to find.

“Argh!”

In a fit of rage, I kick whatever that's on my path, and crumble on the floor to nurse my aching foot.

My body hurts, mind hurts, soul hurts…

Better put, I'm doomed.

“Breathe in.”

I whisper to my hearing, trying so hard to lower the pace at which I’m panting.

Somehow, the strategy seems to work just a little. But then, it's working.

“Out.”

Taking slow and deep breaths, I inflate my lungs with all the air there is.

Orion.

The nasty word is the first thing that comes to my mind.

No. No. No.
