Chapter One-Hundred and Eighteen: Hidden Agenda

Lily’s POV

“What in heaven’s name is wrong with you?”

My father’s voice calls out from the spot where he's sitting.

Pausing on my walk, I'm at the base of the stairs. The direction of his voice is from the left, but I don't see anyone.

“Father?”

He keeps me mute.

Taking a few steps backward, I find my father sitting quietly at the extreme of the dining area.

He just stares at the coffee in front of him, not sparing me a glance.

“Good evening, dad.”

Trying to strike up a less awkward conversation, I approach him

In silence, he picks up the teaspoon by the side, and on the saucer, and stirs slowly, before taking a sip.

“Father.”

I mumble, before pulling out a sit and leveling in it.

“You know you'll have to say something at some point, yeah?”

Keeping my eyes fixed on him, I wait patiently for him to say something.

“What are you doing with that rascal?”

His angry tone groans.

I should have suspected… Or say, I knew, but was kinda expecting magic.
