Kai led Isa to a quiet corner of the room, away from the celebratory chatter. He turned to face her, his eyes locked on hers.
"Isa, I wanted to talk to you about something," Kai said, his voice low and sincere.
Isa's heart skipped a beat. What was Kai going to say?
"I know we've become close friends, planning Ron's party and all," Kai began. "But I have to admit, I've really enjoyed spending time with you, Isa."
Isa's face flushed, her pulse racing. Was Kai confessing his feelings for her?
"I was wondering if maybe... we could hang out more often?" Kai asked, his eyes sparkling with hope.
Isa's heart soared, but she quickly reminded herself that Kai didn't feel the same way. He was just being kind, as always.
"I'd like that," Isa replied, trying to sound casual.
Kai grinned, relief washing over his face. "Awesome! I'll make sure to plan something fun."
As Kai walked back to the party, Isa couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. She was happy to spend more time with Kai, but she knew she had to guard her heart.
