Her father and brother were charitable people but the court officials were stingy and greedy. The more money they saw, the further their greed deepened so under normal circumstances, the national treasury would not be budged in the slightest.

This time, they provided her with a loophole. They dropped the message that she had to attend this event without any details. She wasn't told what to donate as well.

Amara did not have to use a lot of brains to conclude how these events came to be.

Rafael had already figured out some of these things but he listened attentively as she spoke about it.
