Chapter 45:- Regret

Guess who was jealous for not being able to stand beside Octavious with the whole ritual? Who else would it be except Saintess Evelyn, standing far away from the place where I and Octavious were sitting? Her locked gaze upon it was like it would never move until the world ends. Octavious and I were sitting in front of the big dining table, which was arranged to serve foods for the high priests and us.

The high priests of the church were talking with Octavious, knowing his feelings about this ritual. His polished answers were quite satisfying for the priests, as they were relieved that I am the moonlight according to the prophecy of Demeter.

I was told that I couldn't remove my veil until the foods are served. Even under that heavy veil, I could feel Evelyn's painful and jealous gaze on me. I took the glass of juice that was served in front of me. Took a light sip and smirked with the actions of Evelyn.
