Chapter 41: Clash of the Alphas

The clearing was a battlefield of snarls, growls, and blood. Wolves fought savagely around the perimeter, but Jerome's eyes were locked on the center—on Ian and Kieran, whose brutal struggle consumed everything around them.

Ian's powerful form clashed with Kieran's, each movement filled with raw strength and fury. Their eyes blazed with the intensity of Alpha wolves fighting for dominance, their snarls echoing through the air like thunder. Blood matted Ian's fur, but he didn't seem to care. His focus was singular, driven by a fierce determination to end Kieran's reign of terror once and for all.

Jerome stood frozen at the edge of the clearing, her heart pounding in her chest as she watched the fight unfold. She had never seen Ian like this before—so wild, so animalistic. It terrified her, and yet she couldn't look away. Every muscle in her body screamed for her to run to him, but she was powerless to move.

With a savage growl, Ian lunged at Kieran, their bodies crashing together with a sickening force. They tumbled to the ground, snapping and clawing at each other, the sound of their teeth gnashing like bones breaking. Jerome's breath caught as she watched Ian tear into Kieran's shoulder, his sharp teeth sinking deep into the flesh. Kieran howled in pain but retaliated just as fiercely, slashing Ian's side with his claws.

The violence of it all sent a chill down Jerome's spine. This wasn't a simple fight for dominance—this was a fight to the death.

"Ian, please…" she whispered, her voice trembling as fear tightened its grip around her heart. She knew she couldn't intervene. If she did, it would only distract Ian, and that could cost him his life. But standing there, watching him bleed, was almost too much to bear.

Around them, wolves fought viciously, the air thick with the scent of blood and violence. Jerome's eyes darted between the fighting wolves, her mind racing. The White Wolf Pack was holding its ground, but Kieran's forces were relentless. The sound of snapping jaws and pained howls filled the clearing as wolves fell, one after another.

Just as Jerome's fear reached its peak, Ian delivered a powerful blow to Kieran's jaw, sending him staggering back. Blood dripped from Kieran's mouth as he snarled, but Ian didn't let up. He charged again, his strength and fury unstoppable.

For a moment, it looked like Ian would overpower him.

But then Kieran's eyes gleamed with something dark and sinister, and in a flash, he moved with a speed that Jerome hadn't anticipated. He struck Ian's side with a brutal swipe of his claws, tearing through fur and flesh. Ian let out a pained growl, stumbling back as blood poured from the deep wound.

"No!" Jerome cried, her hands flying to her mouth as she watched Ian fall to the ground, his body heaving with the effort to stand. Her heart raced, her fear overwhelming her senses. She had never seen Ian this vulnerable before, and the sight of him struggling to get up sent a wave of panic crashing through her.

Kieran stood over him, his eyes gleaming with triumph. He bared his teeth, ready to deliver the final blow.

Jerome's blood turned to ice. She couldn't let this happen. She couldn't lose Ian.

Without thinking, she stepped forward, her voice breaking through the chaos. "Ian! Get up!" she shouted, her voice filled with desperation. "Don't let him win!"

Ian's ears twitched at the sound of her voice, and slowly, his body responded. He growled low in his throat, forcing himself back onto his feet. His legs shook, but his eyes burned with determination. He wasn't going to give up—not yet.

Kieran snarled, clearly irritated by Jerome's interference. He turned his gaze toward her, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "She's your weakness, Ian," he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "You should have never let her into your life."

Ian's growl deepened, his body tensing as he positioned himself between Jerome and Kieran. "Don't you dare touch her," he snarled, his voice a dangerous rumble that sent a shiver down Jerome's spine.

Kieran laughed, the sound cold and vicious. "You can't protect her forever, Ian. Sooner or later, she'll destroy you."

The words hung in the air like a curse, but Ian didn't flinch. He glared at Kieran, his eyes blazing with a deadly resolve. "I'd die before I let that happen," he said, his voice unwavering.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Ian charged at Kieran again, their bodies crashing together in a final, desperate clash. The force of their collision shook the ground beneath them, and Jerome watched in horror as they fought with everything they had left. Blood splattered across the clearing, and the sounds of growls and snapping jaws filled the air.

This time, Ian was relentless. His movements were precise, brutal, and filled with a rage that Jerome had never seen before. He moved with the speed and power of an Alpha wolf, his focus entirely on ending Kieran once and for all.

Finally, with a savage growl, Ian delivered the fatal blow. His jaws closed around Kieran's throat, and with one violent twist, he ended the fight.

Kieran's body fell to the ground, lifeless.

The clearing went silent.

Jerome stood frozen, her heart pounding as she watched Ian release Kieran's body and step back, his chest heaving with exhaustion. Blood dripped from his fur, his wounds deep, but he had won. He had survived.

Ian lifted his gaze to Jerome, his eyes softening as they locked onto hers. He limped toward her, his body battered but his spirit unbroken.

Jerome rushed forward, her arms wrapping around him as tears filled her eyes. "I was so scared," she whispered, her voice shaking. "I thought I lost you."

Ian leaned into her embrace, his strength still evident despite the pain. "You'll never lose me," he said, his voice low but filled with warmth. "I'll always come back to you."

As they stood there, surrounded by the aftermath of the battle, Jerome realized just how deep their bond had grown. No matter how dark the world around them became, they would always find their way back to each other.
