Kobeni hesitated, then raised a hand. "Uh… what about me?"
Before Kang Woo could respond, Makima suddenly pulled Kobeni into a hug, her voice smooth. "Let's learn the mysteries and have fun."
Kobeni stiffened, clearly not expecting that response, while Kang Woo just sighed and continued scanning through the shelves. Minutes passed in silence as he flipped through ancient texts, his expression growing darker with each discarded book.
Why the fuck did the Warhammer 40K verse suddenly decide to come after Satella?
And more importantly—why was Nurgle's army here too?
From what he had seen, the Thousand Sons and the Death Guard weren't working together. They were slaughtering each other.
Kang Woo exhaled sharply, tossing another useless tome aside. He kept searching, moving with more urgency now.
Kobeni, sitting across from Makima, watched him in silence before speaking. "Does this mean… what Kang Woo is looking for isn't here?"
Makima, already flipping through a large book titled The Grimoire of Warp Contracts, didn't look up. "He's searching for the reason why two Chaos factions appeared here and started tearing each other apart. Like what we saw earlier—that blue cyborg with a plasma cannon fighting hordes of zombies."
She turned a page, her yellow-ringed eyes scanning the text carefully. "And also… why this ship is alone. I may not have Kang Woo's perception, but back on the planet, I sensed multiple spaceships before. Now, there's only this one."
Kobeni swallowed hard. "Then what happened to the others…?"
Makima remained silent as she flipped through The Grimoire of Warp Contracts. Her eyes scanned the unfamiliar symbols and chaotic inscriptions. The more she read, the more she realized—this wasn't magic as she knew it.
This isn't mana… it's something else entirely. Warp?
She didn't voice it yet, but her grip on the book tightened slightly.
Meanwhile, Kobeni, standing opposite her, reached toward a book resting on a pedestal. It wasn't just any book—it glowed with an unnatural, shifting light, the title inscribed in eerie, shifting letters: Discs of Tzeentch.
Kang Woo, who had been focused on his own search, snapped his head up. His gaze sharpened, and the Authority of beholder instantly registered the mistake.
Kobeni, you clumsy .
The moment his eyes landed on her, she was already holding the book.
A pulse of energy exploded outward.
The floor beneath them erupted in shifting symbols—complex, twisting sigils in hues of blue and violet. The air itself crackled, distorting like a mirage.
Kang Woo exhaled. "What did Himeno say about me before?" he muttered.
Makima didn't even look up from her book. "That you're a magnet for trouble."
Kobeni, now fully panicked, whirled on them. "H-hey! It's not my fault! You're the one who brought us on this crazy adventu—"
The sigils flared. A violent pull yanked at their bodies. Reality around them shattered, twisting into fractal shards of existence.
And then— They were gone. The trio vanished, teleported to another section of the ship.
Before Makima even hit the ground, Kang Woo had already caught her effortlessly in a princess carry. Meanwhile, Kobeni was slung over his back like a sack of rice.
Kobeni immediately started flailing. "H-Hey! Why don't I get to be the princess?! I was the first one to cook him ramen!"
Kang Woo barely reacted, setting Makima down gently. The control devil smirked, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Fufufu~ I am the Control Devil," she purred. "Of course, I get first place in Kang Woo's heart. Not to mention—I was also the first to catch him off guard with a kiss."
Kang Woo said nothing. He just reached out and ruffled both of their heads like a father indulging two bickering children.
Then, his gaze sharpened, and he directed their attention to their surroundings.
The playful mood died instantly.
The three of them found themselves on The Warp-Forged Bridge—the Command Deck.
And they weren't alone. Thirty Rubric Marines and twenty Scarab Occult Terminators surrounded them, their arcane weapons already raised, glowing with sinister energy.
A full squad of Thousand Sons, their hollow helmets staring soullessly at the intruders.
Kang Woo took in the situation. A long pause. Then—
He spread his arms slightly, smirking.
"Hello there."
The Rubric Marines didn't move.
Makima sighed, rubbing her temples. "Did you really just Kenobi them?"
Kobeni, still clinging to Kang Woo, was visibly shaking. "Can we NOT piss off the heavily armored space wizards?!"
Kang Woo grinned. "Relax. If they wanted us dead, they already shoot first ."
One of the Scarab Occult Terminators took a step forward.
A deep, mechanical voice echoed through the bridge. "…Intruders. Identify yourselves."
Kang Woo, without missing a beat, crossed his arms. "I'm the guy who just cleaned up your zombie infestation. These two?" He gestured lazily to Makima and Kobeni. "One's my wife. The other is my very stressed-out second wife also my best cook ."
Kobeni nearly choked. "I—I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR —"
Makima, still smirking, placed a finger on her lips. "Fufu~ I like the wife part."
The Rubric Marines remained motionless, but Kang Woo's four crimson pupils flickered—his Almighty reacting to something.
And just as he suspected—some of the Rubric Marines were unstable.
Kang Woo's thoughts moved like clockwork. The Almighty has its flaws… but I didn't expect a part of the Soul King to be this close.
His smirk widened slightly.
"Let me rephrase that." His voice carried across the bridge. "Why is a Fullbring user stranded here?"
A low, mechanical click echoed through the room as the Rubric Marines released the safety locks on their weapons.
Makima's yellow-ringed eyes darkened as she subtly shifted her weight into a stance.
But before she could react, Kang Woo lazily raised a hand, waving it in a gesture that clearly said—calm down.
He exhaled through his nose.
"Your reiatsu is depleting at an alarming rate." He tilted his head slightly, his gaze unreadable. "So, come on. Drop the matter manipulation. Let's talk about it."
For a moment, the bridge was completely silent.
Then, from within the ranks of the Rubric Marines, something… shifted.
A flicker of unstable energy.
And then— One of the Rubric Marines stepped forward. The Rubric Marine hesitated for a fraction of a second before speaking.
"That eye… it's the Eye of God. Are you the Soul King?"
Kang Woo scoffed. "Nope. More like the opposite. If the Soul King is categorized as a god, then I'm a Demon King."
The Rubric Marine stiffened slightly. "Then how did you know that I'm a Fullbringer? That I use Matter Manipulation?"
Kang Woo smirked, casually tapping his temple. "Because the Soul King is divided into multiple parts. Everyone knows about the famous ones—the Heart, the Left Hand, the Right Hand." His eyes gleamed with something unreadable.
"But most people don't pay attention to the other parts."
The Rubric Marine remained silent.
Kang Woo continued.
"First off—the Saketsu—the Chain. And the Nails." His smirk widened slightly. "I know where the Nails ended up—probably with Urahara and his little Hōgyoku. But the Chain?"
He tilted his head, gaze shifting to the left side of the bridge, toward the thick wall of reinforced plating.
The room fell still. And then— Kang Woo's voice was eerily casual.
"It's stuck to you. A Fullbringer. A woman, to be precise."
Kang Woo's pupils flickered. "Aura Michibane, am I right?"
The Rubric Marines tensed.
Kang Woo exhaled through his nose. "Here's a suggestion." His voice was smooth, unreadable. "Drop your Matter Manipulation. Now."
"You're not in your homeland anymore," Kang Woo continued, his tone firm but almost amused. "This place? It runs on the Warp."
His smirk widened, but his gaze was razor-sharp.
"It's a higher level than your spiritual energy. The longer you use your power The worse this gets for you."
The Rubric Marine started, "Why are you looking at that empty—"
Kang Woo didn't let him finish.
"Because your real body is over there." His tone was as casual as ever, but there was something in his voice—something final.
Kang Woo's smirk grew sharper. "These marines? The Occult Terminators? They're just part of your Matter Manipulation. Nothing but projections." He chuckled. "But I have to say, I'm very surprised. How the hell did you manage to create something like this?"
The Rubric Marine didn't respond.
Kang Woo continued, his voice laced with amusement.
"As far as I know, the only living things you should be able to create are Elemental Dragons. You know, like that fancy Hadō #99: Goryūtenmetsu." His crimson pupils gleamed. "Impressive by your world's standards. Mediocre by mine."
The Rubric Marine twitched slightly. Then, in a commanding tone, he spoke.
"Steer this metal ship and take me—"
Kang Woo sighed and cut him off immediately.
"Do you want a real Chaos God invading your homeworld?"
"I can get you there. Easily. But let me tell you something—" Kang Woo's smirk faded, his voice turning dangerously smooth.
"Chaos Gods don't just ignore things when I open a gateway through this ship ."
A heavy stillness settled over the room.
Kang Woo took a slow step forward, his gaze piercing.
"And don't you dare compare Chaos Gods to your kind." His voice was quiet but carried absolute weight. "Not even that fool Yhwach. Not even the Soul King at his peak could stand against them."
His smirk returned, slow and knowing. "And you? A Fullbringer? If I take you there, I hope you're ready to become another footnote in the history of the Warp."
The illusion shattered. The Rubric Marines dispersed, along with the Scarab Occult Terminators, revealing the real source of their presence. Against the cold, metallic wall of the command deck, a single woman lay slumped.
Aura Michibane.( img here )
Her short black hair, longer on the left side, partially covered her face. She wore a black business-style suit, a white scarf wrapped around her neck, and a golden X-shaped lapel pin on her chest. However, none of that concealed the grievous injuries—her chest and throat bore deep wounds that should have killed her.
Instead of speaking, words manifested in the air through matter manipulation.
Why should I trust you? I don't know about these Chaos Gods… but for me, you are more terrifying than them.
Kang Woo finalize his words as crossed his arms. "Do you have another option?"
Aura's eyelids fluttered weakly before she closed them, exhaustion settling into her frail form. More words appeared before she lost consciousness.
I'm at the last rope of my spiritual energy. At least give me time to rest… then you can kill me if you want.
Aura michibane body relaxed, her breathing barely audible.
Makima smirked, tilting her head slightly. "Look what you did to the poor girl, Kang Woo."
Kang Woo raised an eyebrow, glancing down at the unconscious Aura Michibane sprawled on the floor. "What, scared her so much she passed out?" His smirk widened. "Sounds like a skill issue."
Makima chuckled. "You truly have a way with words, my king."
Kobeni, standing behind them, rubbed her temples. "Yeah, a way that makes people either worship him or collapse in despair."
Kang Woo waved a dismissive hand. "Hey, I gave her a choice. She's the one who decided to pass out."
Makima's yellow-ringed eyes gleamed mischievously. "Then how about you let me handle the negotiation instead?"
Kang Woo grinned. "Be my guest." He stepped aside dramatically, motioning toward the unconscious Fullbringer. "Convince the sleeping woman, Makima."
Makima folded her arms, giving him a flat look. "She's unconscious, Kang Woo."
"And whose fault is that?" Kobeni muttered under her breath.
Kang Woo simply shrugged. "I'll wake her up in a bit. For now—"
Suddenly, the sharp blare of an alarm rang through the command deck. A crimson warning light flashed across the screen, and Kang Woo instinctively pressed the nearest button. The cameras switched, flickering through different sections of the battleship's interior—until they stopped on a rusted, decaying corridor.
On the screen, Kishibe and Quanxi sprinted down the passageway, moving fast and low, their expressions sharp with focus. But their pursuer was gaining.
A Death Guard Champion—a towering, bloated abomination clad in ancient, diseased power armor—stomped after them, in his left hand a rusted cleaver . Every step it took left a trail of filth, pus, and rotting flesh . ( img here )
Makima barely blinked. "We should leave them. People die every day."
Kobeni nodded without hesitation. "I agree with Makima. You did warn them to stay in the hangar section."
Kang Woo exhaled slowly, watching as Kishibe barely dodged a swipe from the massive cleaver. He leaned back against the console, eyes narrowing slightly. "Normally, I'd leave them. But the last thing I want is a Chaos God figuring out that these two humans aren't from the Imperium—especially when that Death Guard eats them."
Kobeni's face turned pale. "Eats them?"
Kang Woo gave her a dry look. "It's Nurgle. What do you expect?"
Makima hummed. "And the Death Guard chasing them?"
"He's a Champion of Nurgle." Kang Woo's fingers tapped against the console. "If I kill him, it'll alert Nurgle himself."
Makima smirked slightly. "So, both choices are dead ends."
Kang Woo sighed. "Pretty much."
Kobeni groaned. "Then , what now?"
Kang Woo tilted his head, watching the Death Guard raise a his rusted cleaver .
"...I improvise."
