Otis Arrives in the Territory of Monsters

Otis's Perspective

I felt my eyes become gravelly and before I knew it I had suddenly fallen asleep. It shouldn't have been a surprise that I had accidentally fallen asleep since I had been on high alert for weeks and had barely slept at all, suddenly waking at the smallest of noises and nearly constantly traveling. 

I gasped and was startled awake. Had I heard something just now? I felt my heart pound in my ears as I tried to look around the now-dark cave. 

There was strangely a small tree about the size of a person growing in the cave nearby and I reached up to pull off a tree branch to use as a makeshift weapon. I snapped off a small branch and held it in front of myself and looked around for any approaching threat. That was when I heard an angry and shocked high-pitched screech and the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen walked towards me through the dark.
