"Really? Thanks," Liliana said, her face turning about three shades redder than a tomato.
"It's... no problem," Lucas stammered back, looking everywhere except at her face. Guy was practically vibrating with nervousness.
"Enough of this," Eloisa cut in, sounding about as interested as someone watching paint dry. "Eat up so we can go hunting. We're burning daylight."
"Oh, do I sense some jealousy?" Liliana teased, leaning toward Eloisa with a grin that screamed 'I'm about to poke the bear.'
"Don't even bother. It won't work on me," Eloisa replied, rolling her eyes.
I caught something weird though—for just a split second, there was this creepy smile on her face. Gone so fast I almost thought I imagined it.
"Eloisa! What is the meaning of this?"
