The chopping sounds of the helis roared the base in Alnus. Within a hangar, the officers of the various Combat Teams of the JSDF gathered with the Lieutenant General Hazama addressing them.
"The 3rd Recon Unit has received a request from the representative of Italica, Pinã Co Lada, for local peacekeeping efforts. They are requesting reinforcements." Hazama addresses his men.
"Please let my team handle this!" Colonel Kamo requested.
"1st Combat Team has finished forming up, and is ready to deploy at any time!" Lieutenant Colonel Tsuge added.
"It'll take too long to get there by ground. Let my 4th Combat Team handle this, Lieutenant General!" Colonel Kengun interrupted.
"We have Wagner CD, the sound systems, and loudspeakers at the ready!" Lieutenant Colonel Youga joked.
"Perfect, Lieutenant Colonel!" Kengun joked back.
"I order the 4th Combat Team to deploy," Hazama commanded. "At the moment, we need speed. Given the situation, that is the most sensible choice."
The 4th Combat Team is glad that they're finally going to see action. That is until their feelings are completely ruined by the Lieutenant General.
"However! I must stress one thing. We have received reports from the 3rd Recon Unit in Italica, that they have made contact with the forces of Helnus Gate." Hazama said. "According to their reports, they possess an arsenal more advanced than any nation on Earth. The good thing is, that they are not hostiles. But the bad news is that they're there to negotiate the surrender of Italica. And the report suggests that they have requested further support from their base. If you encounter them, do not open fire at them or show any hostilities. Have I made myself clear?"
The 4th Combat Team nodded, understanding what is at risk.
The men of the 4th Combat Team then load up their Bell UH-1 helis, and they took off from their base along with an escort of two AH-1 Cobra. Full speed ahead to Italica.
At the same time, aboard the hangar of the Carrier-class ISS Arania. Soldiers of the 725th Assault Brigade and the 689th Assault Brigade lined up perfectly, as their superiors Lieutenant General Nikolai Sirkosky and Lieutenant General Hans Mannerheim began to brief them as a holographic projection depicts the topography of the area of Italica.
"We got orders from the Young Master. Deserters of the local's army have gathered up and besieged the seat of House Formar, Italica. Young Master has given word to the representatives of Imperium's support, and we will give them just that." General Mannerheim began. "We will be deployed and land in these coordinates. Not far from the city and the enemy. Update on the ground that the enemy has begun their assault, which means the Young Master's position and the city are in danger. We will rescue them both."
The projection began to highlight the deserters and the LZs where they will land and begin the assault.
"There are about more or less 10,000 hostiles in the area. Our orders are to land in the LZs and bring hell to these traitorous fucks and the wrath of the Imperium. We will not have artillery support, and despite having air units in the area, we cannot rely on them." General Nikolai said. "We will rely on the brute force of our rifles, our armor vehicles, and the sheer fucking rage of an Imperium soldier. Then, we will secure the city from any stragglers hiding."
"Though be warned. Young Master and his company have encountered another force from the nearby Alnus Hill. And what baffles us, is that they are an alternate universe of our 21st-century Earth. Yes, you heard it right. During our Era of Revolution." General Mannerheim added. "Fortunately, it is the JSDF of 21st-century Japan. And none of the egocentric fucks of nations like Russia, China, and the United States. Still, I take you're not stupid enough to provoke them into hostility. Yet I still warn you that should anyone disobey this order, you will be sent straight to court martial. This is a direct order from the Young Master, so don't fuck this up. Do you get me?"
"We get you, sir!!"
"Good! Now let's roll out!"
The soldiers broke formation and rushed to their Vulture-class Dropships. It didn't take long for them to load up, as they took off from the hangar along with an escort of two Firehawks squadrons. The darkness of space greets them for a while, as they turn course to the lush and green planet.
However, many people on the starships were baffled by the size of the planet. Yet based on the 5th Cerberus Pack reports, the atmosphere and the gravitational force of the planet are identical and completely the same as the one on Earth and many other human habitable planets. The planet became an anomaly of itself and would need further survey from the PSC or Planet Survey Corps.
Nonetheless, the 725th and the 689th kept on going. And soon, the two forces will meet in Italica.
°°°°°°
A convoy of armored vehicles is rushing through the roads of Italica, trying to navigate to the East Gate where the Rory Mercury has run into. Lucius's APCs are leading the force, as the rest of the JSDF are in his tail.
It has taken a considerable amount of time for the convoy to navigate. Upon a crossroad, the convoy split as the other half headed straight for the West Gate while Lucius's half and the JSDF head straight to the East Gate.
As the convoy got closer, so did the sounds of violence of medieval warfare. However, the attacking Deserters were more focused on the apostle of Emroy arriving at the battle and holding them off.
The convoy got close, close enough to disembark and open fire at the deserters. The JSDF unit and Lucius's Cerberus disembark from their vehicles, with their rifles at the ready.
"Spread out and form a defensive perimeter. Watch your fire, we don't need a friendly fire incident report for this." Lucius commanded.
"Yes sir!"
The Cerberus soldiers who are with him spread out in squads as they form a defensive perimeter.
"Engage! Engage!"
Both Cerberus soldiers and the JSDF began to open fire at the deserters. It proved overwhelming for the attacking deserters, as they are being gunned down.
While they are working together, it brought the 3rd Recon Unit a shiver at how the soldiers of the Imperium operate. They were silent, yet they know what to do. It could mean that they're communicating directly through their helmets. But what brought their nerves, is how powerful their rifles are. They have been questioning the soldiers on how they work, but they rarely get the answer as most would not be willing to disclose the information. But now that they're seeing it with their own two eyes, they wished they didn't know.
Each time they shot their weapons, it looks like it came from a sci-fi movie. And every time each shot hit the enemy, huge chunks of flesh from the enemy disintegrated, leaving only a large gaping hole with the exposed wound immediately cauterized do what they comprehend as the sheer amount of heat it produces. A destructive power indeed, coming from an issued rifle of a soldier.
Kuribayashi, not wanting to be outmatched rushed into the fray, seeing Rory was about to be overwhelmed.
"Kuribayashi! Get back here!" Itami called out to her.
"Tch! Cover fire! Cover 1st Sergeant Kuribayashi's flank!" Lucius commanded.
Combat ensues, yet no sign of the enemy about to break. To make matters worse, 1st Sergeant Kuribayashi's rifle broke, causing her to use her sidearm and the grenades she has left to defend herself and cover Rory's back.
"Mortar crew, I need rapid-fire missions right outside the East Gate! We need to thin out the attacking force as long as we can." Lucius radioed in.
"Roger, Aquila Red 6. Fire missions received, mortar fire is on the way."
Near the palace grounds, the mortar crew has two mortars on their hands. One facing the west, one at the east. These are 88mm PAW Mortar they're having.
"Elevation! 1188!"
"1188!"
The loader then drop the munition down, as it fired upon the designated trajectory.
Soon, Lucius heard the whistling sound of the mortar rounds. It hit the enemy beyond the walls, causing chaos to the enemy.
"Fire for effect!" Lucius radioed in, satisfied with the result.
The carnage continues, as soldiers of both Cerberus and the 3rd Recon Unit gain ground, gradually pushing the enemy back to the walls.
At this point, Itami was radioed in.
"3rd Recon, this is 401st. We're five minutes away from the city. We need SITREP."
"Enemy is at the East and West Gates. The Helnus forces have divided their force to hold the enemy from both sides!" Itami said.
"Any confirmation of further Helnus reinforcement?"
"Not at the-"
Itami was interrupted as he saw in the horizon, two red flares in the sky. Not far from the position of the city. What baffles him, is that the other flare came from behind.
Not far behind, he heard the roaring of something similar to jet engines, but different. This one was rather smooth than any regular jet engine. Then the aircraft zoomed through the city airspace and dropped their munitions of rockets at the enemies beyond the East Gate.
"The Helnus forces have arrived. I spot two flares not far from the city. One in the East in front, and the West Gate." Itami reported. "They have air units in the area, I say again, they have air units."
"Copy that, 3rd Recon. Hang tight, we'll be there."
Not far, the 401st is on its way to the city.
"Report indicates fighting has broken out inside the gates of the East and West," Youga reported. "There also reports of Helnus reinforcement in the area."
Just before Colonel Kengun could respond, he spotted two flares in the distance. And just before he could say anything about it, a squadron of unknown fighters dropped their munition on the deserters' eastern position.
The fighters taxied around, but then Kengun and all of his 401st witnessed something extravagant. In the East, he saw unidentified flying objects landing just a few meters from the deserters. From those objects, soldiers wearing unrecognizable body armor rushed and engaged the deserters' rear. Not just soldiers, but armor vehicles that he had never seen before.
"They've brought a brigade or two to handle the deserters. Means they have a lot of manpower if they're willing to send in two brigades." Kengun said. "Split the force, assist the forces from Helnus in clearing the hostiles. They might not need it, but we're here anyways."
The 401st split their forces, each meant to support the Helnus forces and get a good look at them. Once Kengun and the rest of his force went east, they finally got a clear view of their weaponry. Anyone can safely say, shouldn't have seen it.
With each shot they produce and hit the enemy, they were left with large gaping holes or even disintegrated an entire torso. And that power came from both their rifles and their mounted guns on their armor vehicles. But what baffles him most, is the air vehicles.
It was a VTOL, futuristic in design. But the sheer power it shots out made the Americans GAU-8 have nothing in common. It shot down an entire line of deserters on the ramparts and destroyed the upper half of the wall as well. Their missile armaments also produced a much higher explosive power than most jets, which showed how they are far advanced in terms of technology.
Still, not wanting to be outshined, the 401st kept on supporting the soldiers down below. And luckily for the 401st, their help seemed to be welcome.
Itami was baffled by how the Galactic Imperium's military is far superior to what he had ever known. One of their jets just strafe an entire line of deserters up on the ramparts and took them out along with half of the upper wall destroyed.
Just as he snapped out of his disbelief, the jet came to a stop right above him, and he just realized that it was a VTOL.
"Clear the gate area! I say again, clear the gate area! We will now eliminate hostiles inside the gate. I say again, clear the area!" The VTOL announced it through an external loudspeaker.
Itami and Kuwabara rushed to Rory's and Kuribayashi's positions. As he carried her bridal style, and Kuwabara carried Kuribayashi like a sack of potatoes. He spotted Lucius and his men staying near where they disembarked as they opened fire with his men, covering for them to return.
As they reached Lucius's position, the VTOL began to open fire. The sound of their guns aren't exactly deafening, but it was high pitched which made Itami's ears hurt a bit. It made anyone not used to it hurt their ears.
The plasma gun on the VTOL went into full gear, rapidly firing at the deserters on the gates and those near the walls. The VTOL occasionally fired their air-to-ground missiles, and the power of the explosion is not exactly what it was standardized on Earth. Well, Itami had to remind himself, this force came from another dimension.
After a while, the VTOL stopped its attack. The dust subsides, and then the carnage was shown for all to see. Disemboweled, and mangled, some lost a whole torso, and some lost their waist down. But it was cauterized as well, which had the same mechanics as the rifles as well. Some even survived, but they were shaking and most were in the fetal position hoping they would survive.
"Put down your weapons. Put them down and raised your hands high if you want to live."
With just a single command, the remaining deserters dropped their weapons. He also heard the gunfire from the 401st have stopped, meaning the battle has won.
He heard the humming noise of the Imperium's armor vehicles and saw many of them pouring inside from the East Gate. Along with the vehicles, are soldiers as well, wearing a much different armor than Lucius's men, but still having the sci-fi looks.
The soldiers gathered up the deserters who surrendered and gathered them on the wall. At the same time, Itami's fellow soldiers from the 4th Combat Team dropped from their UH-1 to the ground. This would cause unpredictable tension, however, Colonel Kengun himself dropped down from his heli.
Seeing this, Lucius approached the man, and the man did the same. They met at the destroyed makeshift defense, standing only 2 feet apart.
"I am Colonel Kengun. Commander of the 4th Combat Team, Japanese Self-Defense Force." Kengun introduced himself.
Lucius took off his helmet, showing his face to the JSDF and the resting militias, and the rest of the populace.
"General Lucius Aurelius, Cerberus soldier of the Galactic Imperium," Lucius said as he hand out one of his hands for a shake. "I appreciate the help you give."
"We are glad to be of help." Kengun shook his hand. "However, I think you'd do just fine without any help at all."
This simple act destroyed any tension between the Militarum and the JSDF for the moment.
The battle was over. Italica was saved, at least to the populace it seemed. But to Princess Piña and Countess Myui, this is merely another occupation. As promised, the Imperium showed up and deliver a demonstration of their military power. Pinã and Myui could guess that the other iron Pegasus belonged to the JSDF, and those iron Wyverns belong to the Imperium. Still, the Iron Wyverns outmatched the Iron Pegasus, delivering the most damage and power display throughout the battle.
Piña, Grey, and Hamilton stood silently before a closed casket, draped over the Saderan flag. Norma's body has been retrieved, and now the three of them mourned their fallen knight.
"We won... Right?" Hamilton said.
"In technicality, yes. We were victorious." Piña said. "But the real winners of this battle, are the apostle Rory, General Lucius of the Imperium, and the JSDF."
"The JSDF, are our enemies currently on Alnus Hill. And the Imperium, are our enemies of Helnus Hill." Piña said. "In the attempt to save Italica, have I not called more terrifying forces? Those Iron Wyverns, Iron Pegasus, Iron Elephants, and their magics. In a moment, they butchered the brigands. If such power turned against us... Then I both Countess Myui would be prisoner and Italica would certainly fall."
Grey and Hamilton stood silently, they felt helpless in comforting their princess.
"I guess even now Italica is now saved, Italica would eventually slip away from our grasp. The Imperium has come, and delivered their mighty magic, completely breaking the brigands." Piña said. "The people would welcome them, cheering, shouting praises, and throwing them flowers."
"That wouldn't-"
"What wouldn't?! They saved the town! They're the true saviors!" Piña denied Hamilton from saying. "If they ask for our surrender, I might have to bend my knees and beg for mercy. Even if it means I have to kiss their soles on their feet."
°°°°°°
"What the fuck happened to you?"
Lucius commented on the fresh bruise on Itami's right eye.
"I was carrying Rory bridal style, subconsciously rubbing my fingers against her breast," Itami explained. "Guess she didn't like that. And just punched me in the eye."
"Sheesh. You should be more aware where you touch women, 2nd Lieutenant." Lucius commented. "Then again, I pity you. It wasn't warranted the need to be a punch in the eye."
Itami looked at the foreign general and saw he is wearing a black with red highlights military uniform. At a glance, it almost resemblance to the old SS of Nazi Germany.
"Nice uniform. What's the occasion?" Itami asked.
"Hm? Oh, well there's a special occasion for that. You'll see soon enough." Lucius responded.
As soon as he said that, Kengun approached the two with his right-hand man Youga.
"I hope we're not keeping you," Kengun said.
"No, no. You're not." Lucius said.
The doors to the reception room were opened. In an instant, Lucius entered with two of his guard. Followed by Kengun and Youga, then Itami and Kuwabara. The six of them faced Countess Myui and Princess Piña, sitting on the throne reserved for hosts.
"We are grateful to you all for rescuing Italica. And now we would like to talk about-"
Just as Hamilton was about to continue, Lucius raised his hand.
"I don't think there will be no need for further talks. Especially what we have agreed upon before the battle." Lucius said. "The Imperium would only like for the Formars to uphold their end of the bargain."
Lucius wasn't letting the Saderans slip Italica from the Imperium's embrace. No, he would not give them a chance.
"I'm sorry, is there something that Italica has agreed upon before the battle?" Kengun asked.
"There is, Colonel Kengun," Lucius said. "So, Countess. As per our agreement, you will uphold your end?"
Myui stands, firm yet anxious looks are the only thing anyone could see on her face.
"Yes. Of course. As per our agreement. In return for the Imperium to support the defense of Italica, House Formar shall submit to the rule of the Galactic Imperium." Myui said. "Italica, her wealth, and her people henceforth belong to the Imperium."
The JSDF's face went into full shock. They didn't see this turn of events coming their way. Itami looked at the Princess and her entourage and saw their face in despair as their Empire have lost an important city. Itami wanted to protest, but he knew he couldn't do anything. If only the government have tasked him to demand the surrender of the city, it could be used to challenge the claim. However, it could lead to an unwanted incident between the Empire of Japan and the Imperium.
"Then, how about our trade agreement?" Itami asked.
"Let me see what Italica has arranged for a trade agreement," Lucius asked.
Hamilton gave the piece of the scroll that she was about to read, as Lucius began to examine what terms Italica have arranged.
"Article One, wouldn't be necessary since Italica is now a part of the Imperium. Article Two wouldn't be needed, and is redundant as Italica is under Imperium which follows Imperium laws. And Article Three, the trade agreement between Alnus Cooperative and Italica. Traded goods consisted of local food groceries, tools as well as exotic materials free of tax. I see no issue, as the article is directly meant for refugees or any citizen near Alnus." Lucius said as he rip apart the paper. "But, it will need to be arranged further. However, a license to trade will be given. The Imperium will not ignore one's request for a better livelihood."
"I see. Thank you for your consideration and kindness." Kengun responded.
"No need," Lucius said. "Now returning to another issue. Princess Piña. What say you of my offer?"
"May I ask what offer you have with her?" Kengun asked suspiciously.
"A visit. To the other side of Helnus." Lucius said. "Actually, I was about to request a visit for myself beyond the GATE of Alnus. I wish to meet the Diet and address them of the situation."
Kengun was surprised, everyone from the JSDF side was surprised.
"There would be a Diet summons for public reports of our progress in Special Region," Kengun said. "We could notify our government of your request to be present in the summon."
"Wonderful. Usually, this would need a representation from the Imperium Foreign Relation. Unfortunately, Imperium Foreign Relation cannot attend and it would take a considerable amount of time for one to attend." Lucius said. "So in their stead, I will represent the Imperium. If you are questioning my credibility in this field, I have a Masters's degree in International Relations and Political Science."
Itami was surprised to hear that anyone from old Earth is surprised. To be that young, and already have a Masters's degree in International Relations and Political Science is a prodigy. Well, they're half right.
"One more matter. What happens to the prisoners?" Kengun asked.
"They will be handled accordingly to the Imperium law," Lucius replied. "However, we are willing to give everyone your control if that's what you wish."
"Will they be treated humanely if we let the Imperium handle them?" Youga asked.
"They will be treated according to Imperium laws. But for your concerns, yes they will be." Lucius replied.
"How about our cease, Princess Pinã? Will you give us that?" Kengun asked.
"Of course. There will be a cease until further talks can be held." Pinã answered. "Of course, the same will be applied to the Imperium as well. In my honor, I will make sure no Imperial force under my reach will break that ceases."
"I see. Then we have no issue." Kengun said. "2nd Lieutenant Itami, the 401st will be going ahead. That is alright with you?"
"Yes, sir. We'll be okay." Itami.
"Oh, before you leave. I have to ask your permission to visit your base." Lucius said. "I'll tag along with the 3rd Recon Unit if that's okay."
"Hm? Of course, but wouldn't you like to come in your vehicle? I take it they will be much faster than any of our vehicles here." Kengun said. "That said, why don't you just come along with the 401st? We are much more mobile than the humvees."
"Yes, but I simply want to have a joyride in one of your humvees. Simply because that thing is ancient to us, it would be nice to ride it." Lucius said.
"Hm... I'll relay this to the general. Once I have confirmation, I'll relay it to the 3rd Recon." Kengun replied.
"Excellent! I'll be waiting for the response," Lucius said.
"Well then, if you excuse us. General. Countess, Princess." Kengun said as he saluted, and walked out of the room.
"So, princess. What about my offer?" He asked her. "Would you accept a trip, to the Galatic Imperium?"
Piña let out a huge sigh. While she was skeptical of him not being insulted or her being harmed if refused, she couldn't deny the need for a visit. She could persuade the high powers of the Imperium to at least keep Sadera prospering. At least prosper, any chance of her securing independence for Sadera would be nigh impossible.
"Yes. Of course, I will visit the Galactic Imperium." Piña said. "Although, I would ask you to wait for the reinforcement I called just a few days ago to arrive."
"You may take as much as you like, princess. Your entire retinue, if you wish." Lucius said. "We will depart to the Galatic Imperium in two weeks. I guess that is enough time for you to wait for your force. Since I have to visit Japan."
"Understandable, we will go in two weeks." Piña agreed.
"Excellent."
Lucius then turned to the Cerberus beside him.
"Raise the flags. The city is ours." Lucius said.
"Understood, sir."
Without saying a word, the other Cerberus soldier approached the thrones. Myui was wary of this, but the worry dissipates as the soldier simply cut the flags of Sadera. He singlehandedly placed the Imperium's flag, as he raised it high and proudly.
All across the city as well. The Sadera flag was dropped down, and in its place, the mighty Imperial Star fluttered in the wind.
°°°°°°
The 3rd Recon have been waiting for the girls to finish their trade. That, and they're waiting for the general of the Imperium, General Lucius Aurelius. They have been relayed of the government's direct permission for Lucius to visit.
"I can't believe that they just took over the place!" Kuribayashi ranted.
"It can't be helped. They secured the deal." Itami said.
They wait and wait, and wait. Finally, the girls arrived with a large sum of cash stuffed in a burlap sack.
"I take it things go well?" Itami asked.
"Yes. We received no tax, as promised." Lelei answered.
"Good. Now the only thing we need to wait for is General Lucius." Itami said.
"W-wait. He's coming with us?" Tuka asked surprised.
"Yes. Why, is something wrong?" Itami asked.
"W-well... He emits an uneasy feeling." Tuka said.
"Oh? I thought I was the only one." Lelei added. "It's something, dark. But not evil, it's just dark."
"That's the stench of death, girls. And he, along with the entirety of his men stink with it." Rory said.
"And what that's supposed to mean?" Kuribayashi asked.
"It means they have seen many deaths. It means they as well, caused many deaths." Rory said. "It means for all their lives, they only know war."
Speaking of the devil, Itami could see the silhouette of Lucius in his uniform, alone. Not one soldier accompanied him.
"Well then, let's get going," Lucius said.
"We should. But are you sure, you're going without any personal bodyguards?" Itami asked. "I mean, we're fine with you bringing a few soldiers."
"Oh, there's no need for that. There are times I would like just to go alone." Lucius answered.
"How come you're so sure that we wouldn't do anything to you?" Kuribayashi asked, puzzled by the lack of wary of the foreign general.
"Why of course, the JSDF has a good reputation. Of course, I can count on that." Lucius replied.
Not even giving anyone a comment, Lucius hopped in the Humvee. Followed by Rory, Lelei, and Tuka in the back while Itami took the front seat.
The convoy drove off, it wasn't exactly comfortable with the shaky road Lucius have to face, but it was nothing to whine about. While the JSDF he's with is being extra vigilant, due to a VIP passenger with them. Lucius however, just enjoying the view. He took a glance and saw the three girls sleeping to each other, they must've been exhausted to have them awake the entire night during the siege.
The sun is shining brightly, and the air and temperature were perfect for a noon nap. Lucius getting a bit drowsy, he was completely entranced by the view, the gentle breeze, and the warm temperature. Until he was brought out from his drowsiness, with a sudden harsh break.
"What's going on?" Lucius asked.
"We got smoke up ahead," Furuta said.
Lucius was passed over a binocular by Itami, and the three looked over the coming dust.
"I saw... Tiara!"
"Oh, I- Wait a second, Tiara!?"
"Blonde hair!"
"Blonde hair?!"
"Ringlets!"
"Ringlets?!"
"I see a blonde girl with ringlets, a beautiful girl in men's clothes, and several hot chicks behind them!"
"Whoa... Are those... They're roses!!"
"Those are roses!!"
Lucius looked at the two JSDF soldiers, and he can't help but be amused by the shenanigans of the two.
These two remind me of Lucas and Marcus.
But Lucius snapped out of it and returned to the issue at hand. According to the looks, and the information that a force coming, this must be the reinforcements that Princess Pinã has called upon. But it became a problem. Lucius is more than certain that they have not been notified of the recent events and the news of the ceasefire from their princess. He needs to think of a way to dissolve the incoming conflict, and fast.
But then, something came up. Something felt weird in his psyche, but somehow, he knows what to do. He doesn't like it, but somehow his psyche seems to convince him that it would bring more influence if done right. Logically, Lucius wouldn't like it. But, his psyche was never wrong, it was his guide and guardian angel in times of war. After all, he has been through, he wouldn't question his psyche.
Lucius took Itami's attention and began to relay his intentions.
"You will all stay inside. I will face them. And don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Lucius said. "I don't want to break the ceasefire, so I suggest you told your men to stand down. Whatever happens."
Itami was about to protest about it. But, again, he would follow the foreign general's suggestion.
Lucius walked out of the humvee and walked to the right side of the humvee he was just riding.
The riders stopped just a few meters away from him.
"Where did you come from?" The silver-haired asked with a firm and commanding tone.
"We're returning home from Italica," Lucius answered her, with his hands up not wanting to provoke them.
"To where?" She asked again.
"Alnus-"
Just as Lucius said that the silver-haired drew her sword and aimed it at him. Lucius was about to disarm her, but somehow his body stopped. His psyche has taken over. It wasn't the first time, but it means he have to endure this. It could lead to him being a hostage, but his psyche was never wrong nor did it lead to him almost dying. He had a few close encounters during the War in Heaven, but his psyche took over and saved him from certain death.
At times, I want to thank the Holy Guardians and the other I would like to curse them.
"Arnus Hill, you say?" The silver-haired said.
Lucius heard the ammo being pulled into the chamber of the mounted guns. Lucius gave a glance, Itami was doing what he suggested. Keeping the situation under control and not causing hostility, though it would seem these girls are trying to cause one.
"You! You're from Alnus Hill, aren't you!?" The blonde hair jumped off her horse and grabbed Lucius by the collar of his uniform.
Lucius would love, and he would just squeeze the ever-living of these girls with his psychic powers. But unfortunately for him, his psyche is being a Dumbledore-level ambiguous and being an absolute ass.
"Calm down, ladies! I'm sure, we can tal-"
*SMACK* "Be silent!!"
Lucius now really wants to use his psychic powers to kill them. He wants to do just that. But now, he knows what his psyche wants. The Holy Guardians said that one's psychic powers are alive, and they act to the user's need, advantage, and safety. And now, he sees the point. And now, he knew what he have to do next.
"Itami! Just go!! Go to Alnus!! Now!!"
Itami looked at him puzzled, but he did it anyways. His convoy just drove away, at high speed so that the riders couldn't catch up. Leaving Lucius with Pinã's knights.
"Surrender." The silver-haired demanded of him.
He was then got hit in the gut, in an attempt to subdue him. He felt it, but it was nothing. But he played along, just like what his psyche wanted. He dropped to the ground, acting in pain. Then all of a sudden, his hands are being yanked up and he felt he was being tied. Then his head was yanked up, and the other end of the rope was tied to his neck.
"You're our prisoner now. We'll take you to Princess Piña, for questioning." The blonde hair said nonchalantly.
Lucius then on was dragged along, walking while he received constant abuse from those girls. He endured it, this was nothing to the training he received to be a Cerberus. Boy, he would rather be doing this for days on than be on the Cerberus torture course for just an hour. He remembered it all too well, each Cerberus have to learn to torture and survived being tortured. So they have to torture each other, trying to break the other. Those who break will be kicked out of the training regiment and will join the rest of the Militarum.
He didn't realize it, but he was being beaten for a few hours. He limped, but still, it was nothing for him. He was bruised in the face, he has hemorrhaging somewhere on his head, and his visions are blurry. But still, he kept going.
Then he heard it.
"This is the Militarum of the Galactic Imperium! Surrender now! Release the Young Master at once!!"
He is being rescued. It was a long wait, but he can tolerate that. After all, Italica has just joined the Imperium, so defensive sensors have not been installed. If it have been, they would be subjugated the moment they intercept the convoy. You can't even put a booger without being noticed by the sensors.
The knights took a defensive position, as the blonde hair jumped from her horse and held Lucius with one hand and the other have a sword resting right in front of his jugular.
He could sense since he couldn't see well at the moment, 4 Firehawks circling them. Then he heard the humming noise of the Imperium's hovering armor vehicles. He could predict several Thor-class APCs approaching. He also heard footsteps of his soldiers, rushing out from the APCs of course aiming down the sight at the girls who held him, hostage.
"Release him at once! Bozes!!"
The person who he has been waiting for has arrived. Princess Piña is there, from the silhouettes, along with two of her closest retinue.
Lucius was let go, and he dropped to the ground on his knees.
"Princess! I'm glad you're-"
*SMACK*
Piña has slapped Bozes in the face. She was stunned, as she saw the rage all over Pinã's face.
"You... You fool!!!" *SMACK*
Piña slapped her again, this time using a different hand.
"You... Do you have any idea what you just did?!!" She berated her.
The silver-haired dismounted and rushed to the side of the blonde hair.
"Princess, is there something we did wrong?!?" She asked.
"Yes, Panache. You did. You all did." Pinã said. "Untie him immediately! That's an order!"
Her knights did as she was told, not wanting to incur further wrath from their princess.
Lucius felt his hand was loose, along with the tie on his neck. He tried to get up and almost stumbled, but he manages to get balance.
"Young Master. Let's get you some medical treatment."
Lucius fixed his posture, as he flexed his body. He walked, albeit slowly trying to balance his steps. Despite him not feeling the pain, it did however disorient him.
Taking his pace slowly, a soldier rushed to his side to take support of Lucius. He accepted it, as the soldier took the support of their Young Master.
"General Lucius. If I may, I a-"
"Not at the moment... I'm disoriented as it is..." Lucius said. "... Kill them all. Leave the princess and those who came with her."
The soldiers then turned their weapons at the female knights belonging to Piña. However, Piña jumped right in front of them, covering them.
"General! I beg you, have mercy! They didn't know! This is my fault, I miscalculated their arrival. Please, let them live." Piña begged.
"... Fine. Tell them to drop their weapons, they're to be put on house arrest." Lucius said.
Piña nodded in understanding and turned to her retinue.
"You heard him. Throw down your weapons." Piña said. "You will be put under arrest. Do not resist."
"B-but princess-"
"Do it now!" She shouted, affirming her orders.
Her knights reluctantly dropped their swords. In an instant, soldiers rushed forward to their position. They began to subdue the knights, as they were brought to their knees as their hands are tied behind their backs.
Piña looked over at her knights, roughly treated as if they were being pushed, however, they weren't abused. They were loaded up to the APCs, along with the guard of four Imperium soldiers.
She headed away to the APC that took her, as she saw Lucius being loaded up to his APC.

Piña was left with anxiety about the fate of her knights and the state of the cease. What her knights did was already in violation of the cease, especially to a man of status like Lucius. However, that's not what she only worried about. It's the word "Young Master" to address General Lucius.
Piña's face was pale, all the way from the journey. If it's what she thinks it is, General Lucius might be a young noble to the Imperium. And if he reached General at such a young age, he could have a massive influence in the Imperium. She needs to find a way to make sure that Lucius "forgets" about this incident.
Suddenly, she heard a knock at her door.
"Princess. Lieutenant General Hector Hernandez, General Lucius's close retinue wishes to see you." Hamilton said outside. "He awaits in the reception room."
Now the situation has gone worse. This Lieutenant General must've come from Helnus, and he wants answers to the condition that happened to his General.
Piña opened the door and walked outside with Grey and Hamilton accompanying her. It didn't take long for her to arrive at the door to the reception room, but she didn't enter. She steeled herself and controlled her breathing. She opened the door and saw a man with a similar uniform that General Lucius wore. But with him, are 30 Cerberus soldiers, armed, and she could feel the tension.
"Y-You must be Lieutenant General Hector." Piña greeted. "I am Piña Co Lada, Princess of the Saderan Empire."
"Well met, Princess," Hector said. "I think you know the purpose of my arrival here?"
"Y-yes. There has been some misunderstanding between-"
"Misunderstanding? Care to explain it? Because I don't think beating our Young Master, putting him hostage, and treating him inhumanely, is not a form of misunderstanding." Hector antagonized her.
"Y-yes! I-it's a misunderstanding! Truly! M-my knights were just arriving, and they were not notified of our cease!" Piña tried her best to defend her people, but fear that the Lieutenant General imposes made it difficult. "I-it's my fault. I'll take responsibility."
Hector wasn't convinced, not in the slightest.
"And how would you take responsibility, if I might ask?" Hector asked. "The fingers of those knights, perhaps? Or what?"
Piña steeled herself, and stand her ground.
"I will make sure that I will take responsibility, and I assure you that it would be to your satisfaction," Piña said.
Hector crossed his arms, keeping a sharp gaze at her.
"You better. And I suggest soon. Young Master will have to report to the Imperator about our progress. He would certainly question the condition Young Master Lucius is in." Hector said.
What Hector said just made a solid, non-direct confirmation of what she had suspected. Piña's face gone visibly pale, but she needs vocal confirmation.
"Is... General Lucius related to the Imperator?" Piña asked. Hoping it wasn't the case.
"Why do you think we call him Young Master?" Hector asked her back. "He is the son of the Imperator, Augustus Aurelius III, the Master of the Imperium, Overlord of Thousands of Worlds, Leader of the Galactic Custodes. He is Lucius Aurelius, the Avenger. Or by your terms, Crown Prince of the Imperium."
That was it. Her knights have just assaulted the Crown Prince of the Imperium. She kept her legs strong, didn't want to give out and fall to the ground.
"I-I see. I-I will make sure that the C-Crown Prince gets what he deserved." Piña said.
"Good. Now if you excuse me, I must visit the Young Master. I would like to have a word on his decision not to bring any Cerberus with him."
Hector turned away, not giving a single look to the silent princess. One would consider this an insult, and being looked down upon. But again, he had the right to do so.
"So, what should we do?" Hamilton asked.
"We need to persuade him," Piña said. "This incident cannot become an issue that the Imperium could exploit. By any means necessary."
"I don't like that tone," Grey said. "Don't do things you will regret."
"Nonetheless, it must be done. After all, I am a princess. I was always meant to do this, even if I don't want to." Piña said, determined even though she didn't like it a bit. "Hamilton, you will help me get ready."
"Your Highness, you're not doing what I think you're trying to do, are you?" Hamilton asked in denial.
"I have to. It must be done." Piña said, her voice shivering, but she kept trying to be strong.
Piña left the room, and hurry her way to her chambers. Both Hamilton and Grey looked at her with pity and sadness, to think she have to do that to save the Empire.

Lucius was being treated by the maids of House Formar. He didn't expect to enjoy it so much, but he has to give credit where it is due. The former count is a man of culture, and Lucius saluted him for his taste.
He's now being served by maids of all races, a humanoid bunny, a catgirl, a Medusa, and lastly a human.
Right now, he's being spoonfed cakes, while his torso is being wiped with a wet cloth. When he wants a drink, the catgirl poured out the water and placed the cup to his lips.
Just as he was enjoying the treat, Hector abruptly barged in.
"Oh, hey there Hector." Lucius greeted.
"May I ask why? Why did you go without any bodyguards?" Hector asked him.
"Well, simple. I want to enjoy being alone, just trying to get close to the JSDF." Lucius said.
"And to what end does that help us?" Hector asked.
"Well, I have plans. Big plans. Which I'm sure that the Imperator would agree since I am his son and we think alike." Lucius said.
"Then, why didn't you fight back? You're more than enough to kill those girls." Hector asked. "So why didn't you?"
"Remember those times when I suddenly act strange?" Lucius said.
"What about- Oh... That's why." Hector understood what Lucius meant.
"He's being an ambiguously annoying ass. Though, I caught what he meant." Lucius said. "Still, it was a bitch of experience. "
"So, did it get the result you wanted?" Hector asked.
"I'll find out soon. Right now, I just want to enjoy being coddled like a baby by these beautiful ladies."
Hector sighed. It's a good thing they were talking not in Falmartian, otherwise he would be very embarrassed.
"Say, any reports?" Lucius asked. "How about the situation in Bellnahgo?"
"We successfully occupy the city. Though collateral damage was unavoidable, around 1/4 of the population of Bellnahgo have fallen a martyr." Hector reported. "On another report, the 25th Classis has reported that the planet we're on has, 'anomalous' characteristics."
"Care to elaborate?" Lucius asked.
"Apparently, the planet itself is twice larger than any human-hospitable planets or moons. But according to our report that it has the same atmosphere composition as any human-hospitable planet, which contradicts the fact that the planet's mass is much larger." Hector said. "The 25th have made Geo-scans, since they suspected that the planet must be hollow, and it did. We found that the planet contains hollow sections in the mantle, however, the hollow sections are not adequate to explain why the planet has the same characteristics the same as Earth with twice the mass."
"Interesting indeed. The PSC is going to have a field day with this information." Lucius commented. "Still, we need at least to secure a small region of the continent if we are to send the PSC to do their work. Anything else?"
"Well, one. The Imperator would like to speak to you whenever you're ready."
Hearing this, Lucius sat up from the bed, which caused protest from the maids.
"I am alright. I need to do something." Lucius said to them.
Hector took Lucius's coat, and just hang it over his shoulder. With a single look and a nod from Lucius, Hector placed the portable Holo device on the floor. It hums as it turns on, which brought the maids to complete shock and awe.
Then, a figure of a well-dressed man appears. At a glance, the maids thought it was a form of illusion magic. But, it wasn't the case.
"Lucius, my son."
Lucius, along with Hector bend their knees and knelt before the illusion magic. The maids follow as well, hearing that the young general is also a prince, they quickly assume it was the king as they too knelt.
"Hail, Imperator. Forgive me, I only contact you just now." Lucius said.
"No need to apologize about that. Still, I take it everything is well? Hector told me about what happened. Care to explain?"
"Everything will be explained in due time, Imperator. However, I can assure you, Young Master has his reasons. Good ones, as well." Hector said.
"I see. And I seem to be notified that we have an Inter-dimensional gateway to old Earth. And why am I only just informed of this just a few moments ago?"
"The reason why I didn't inform you sooner, is that I need to confirm this piece of information myself. When I receive information about another force, with the description of modern weaponry in action, I have to assume caution. My Psyche has insisted me go to Italica, where I met them. It is where I confirm that they are from an alternate universe of our old Earth. And thankfully, they are not the superpowers of old Earth. They are the Japanese Self-Defense Force of old Japan." Lucius explained himself. "I was about to report to you, however, the situation has gotten unpredictable, which forces me to delay my efforts to report the events until I can determine the situation."
"I see. Fair assessment, my son. I take it you have arranged a visit with the Japanese Government?"
"Yes, Imperator. That, and also I was planning to have them visit our planets. I was thinking about them visiting our Earth, in my efforts to show them that we are superior, and to instill Pro-Imperium sentiment." Lucius said.
"Good. The humanities of both Earth must unite. The humans of old Earth must be realized that Imperium values are for their good. And who knows, they might embrace the Imperium as a whole."
"It would be nice. Two Earths, two universes, one Imperium. Peace shall be enforced to all worlds." Lucius commented.
"Indeed. Now, I must get going. I will be waiting for the arrival of our guest. Hail Imperium."
"Hail Imperium!"
The transmission was terminated, as the device deactivated.
"Now, if you excuse me, I will be returning to Helnus CENTCOM. We got a lot of work to do." Hector said. "And this time, you will be accompanied by a group of Cerberus soldiers, whether you like it or not."
"Alright, alright. I get it." Lucius whined.
Hector walked out the door, leaving the Young Master of the Imperium alone with the four maids.
"Where was I? Ah yes, I was just being spoiled by four beautiful ladies. Alrighty, let's continue that!"
The girls giggled flattered by the handsome Young Master, as he returned to the relaxing service of the four maids.
It was already late at night, and Lucius was resting himself from the entire fiasco. Closed his eyes may be, but he was in deep thought. It was an unexpected fiasco, but have a rather one that could be used as a valued opportunity.
As he was deep in thought, a knock came from outside his room.
"Young Master, Princess Piña is here to see you."
At late night? Lucius have at least predicted that she would at least make her move in the morning. Nonetheless, she came anyways.
"Let her in," Lucius said.
His room is poorly lit since he asked it to be to make it easy for him to sleep. His eyes were still heavy, despite him not drifting from sleep. The door opened, and the silhouette of Pinã's figure can be seen. However, this silhouette was rather... Odd.
"Princess Piña... What brings you here at this time of night?" Asked Lucius.
Silent, she doesn't reply. This would warrant him to be cautious, however, his psyche was curiously docile. A suspicious situation like this would have warranted the psyche to be completely wary and his sense is heightened. There was no reaction. And what made him curious, is that she stayed at the edge of the room where lights from the candles aren't even illuminating it.
"Young Master Lucius... I've... I've come to take responsibility for what my knights have done to you." Piña said, her voice trembling.
"And what kind of responsibility, I may ask?" Lucius asked as he drink the glass of water beside his bed.
Piña stepped forward and completely shocked Lucius with what he was seeing. So shocked in fact, Lucius spat out the water in his mouth.
There she is, standing just two meters away from him. Her hair was curly and laid down, all the way to her chest. Lucius smell the rose-scented perfume coming from her, it would intoxicate any male in general. But what surprised him...
Is that she's wearing lingerie?
She has a slim figure, great posture, and a still developing waist, yet she had a well-developed pair on her. It made her even more beautiful with her choice of lingerie, pink in color, obstructing enough from afar but translucent enough up close. It was frilly, covering yet teasing those who look.
But the person who Lucius still considers a young one made a move, a bold move as she close the gap between herself and him. They were a few inches apart. She looked at the chiseled and toned naked torso, as Lucius always liked to sleep bare chest. She hesitated to touch, but in the end, she did. Warm. Warm and firm, she have never touched a man's body, and it was much different than her knights when she oftentimes took baths together as comrades.
She began to explore the upper torso. Her face flushed red, either from embarrassment or something else. Her hands meet on Lucius's jaw, and as she was about to pull him close, Lucius pushed her hands away.
"W-what's wrong? D-don't you like it?" Piña asked.
Lucius did not say a word, instead, he pulled the bedcover from his bed and tucked her in with it.
"Is your chastity worth so little, that you would sacrifice it for the mistake of others?" Lucius asked her.
His question stunned her. Many would take advantage, but he. Why is he different?
"I'm a princess... women always be one of the ways to make amends in this world," Piña said.
"Well, I am not of your world," Lucius replied. "If this your way to take responsibility and make amends, then I request a change of the form of amends."
Piña shot up and looked at Lucius's blue eyes wide.
"And that is...?"
"I want you to accompany me to Alnus. Take at least two of your trusted people." Lucius said. "It has no advantage to me, but it means a lot to you. Especially, there is a high chance that the JSDF kept survivors of your countrymen. You might just be able to make a deal with the Japanese to release them."
Piña tightens her grip on the piece of bedcover that covers her entire body.
"Why... Why are you doing this?" She asked. "My knights have done wrong, it is by logic that I should make amends to you with my body. Why do you reject it?"
"Simple. Even though it is the only way for you, I know you do not want to do it." Lucius said. "Trust me, you're beautiful and all. But it is not right, this is not how you settle an issue."
Piña's eyes swelled, tears coming out of relief, and moved. She was glad she didn't have to do it. And Lucius knew had she done it with him, her mental state will break. One's mind will be challenged by everyone, and those in leadership will eventually have their pure heart tainted. But now, Lucius wanted to keep that purity of heart within her.
At least until she is ready, and governs the planet under the Imperium.
Yes, that's his plan. To get her into the Imperium's fold, and instate a local governor of the planet, with unyielding loyalty to the Imperium. He was already vying for a trusted, puppet ruler for the planet. And now, thanks to the help of his Psyche, he found the best one yet.
She's näive, new, and inexperienced. She's intelligent but needed to be refined in her wisdom. The Imperium could give her all she needed to be a great ruler, and a raised ruler is a much more viable option than a local ruler who has not fully embraced Aurelism as they can now slowly, but surely instill loyalty to the Imperium to her.
Yet out of a sudden, she jumped on him, hugging him tight. He was surprised, yet he gave in and hugged her back. She needed a shoulder to cry on, a shoulder to let out her frustration.
After an hour, she calmed down. Lucius gently pushed her away, as she fix the bedcovers that enveloped her body.
"Feeling better?" He asked.
"Yes, very much. You don't know how much I needed that." She replied. "Thank you."
"There's no need to thank me. But now, you must return to your quarters." Lucius said. "And prepare for tomorrow. We will be going to Japan by a Dragonfly-class Utility Helicopter, the very first thing in the morning."
"I see. I understand. I'll be sure to get ready for the journey." Piña said.
"You might want to pack clothes for a week or so. We might stay a while there." Lucius said again.
Piña nodded, and head straight toward the door. Just as she was about to open it, she turned around.
"You're a kind man, Young Master Lucius. Thank you." Piña smiled warmly.
She opened the door and walked out of his room.
°°°°°°
Morning came about, and Lucius is already wearing a new uniform. It was identical, just very new. He heartily ate the food served by the Formars. He enjoyed the new flavors brought about by the Falmartian dishes, it's a wholly unique and new experience.
The door came to open, and he saw Princess Piña, with a new confident smile on her face. She wore not her armor, but a tri-color outfit. The outfit reminds him of medieval-era envoys.
"Good morning, Princess Piña." Lucius greeted her.
"Good morning, Young Master Lucius." Piña greeted back.
She sat down on a chair and ate the already prepared food on the table.
"So, are you ready for our trip to Japan?" He asked.
"Yes. I already prepared what I need for a week-long journey." Piña replied. "Though, I have to ask you about something."
"Ask away, princess." He said as he bite into the food on his fork.
"It's about these two."
As soon as she said that, the door came open. And from there, he saw Bozes and Panache wearing the same thing that Piña wore.
"After I told everyone what had happened, these two wanted to come along," Piña said.
"We want to make amends to you, Young Master Lucius. Please, accept us as the princess's bodyguards!" The two said as they bowed at him.
"You may. Just stay out of trouble. Though, you are wrong. You're not here to guard her, you're here to be her aide." Lucius said. "Have you prepared for the journey?"
"Yes! We did!" The two of them answered.
"Great. Then we'll depart as soon as we finish breakfast." Lucius said.
Once breakfast was done, Lucius, Piña, Bozes, and Panache all waited in the main courtyard of Formar estate. With them, are the Formar retinue along with the Marchioness Myui.
"Marchioness, thank you for the hospitality House Formar has shown to us." Lucius thanks his host.
"But of course, it's always a pleasure to serve the Imperium." She said.
Ever since the siege, she has been assisted by the workforce coming from the Imperium. Myui was surprised and amazed by how generous the Imperium was with assisting recovery for Italica, and now giving her able and competent people to assist her in statecraft. The situation goes better for her when 15,000 came to her city as promised. But the soldiers required a place for shelter, but the city barracks are all derelict and old. In the end, Italica made 2 military bases on the east and west of the city to protect the city.
While at the same time, the Imperium sends its tutors to help her grow. She learned new things every day, things much more advanced than the tutors from Rondel could offer.
Not long, the Dragonfly-class arrived and landed in the courtyard. However, they soon heard two of the Firehawk-class VTOL jets flying overhead.
A Cerberus soldier came out from the Dragonfly, and she saluted him.
"Young Master! We'll be taking you to Alnus Base. You'll be taking my platoon with you across the gate. Lieutenant General Hector's orders sir!"
"*Sigh* Guess he's still pissed with me going alone," Lucius whined. "Alright, let us go. Take the baggage with you as well."
The platoon leader waved her hand at her soldiers, as they rushed in to carry the luggage. Lucius then entered the Dragonfly, along with Piña, Panache, and Bozes. The Dragonfly soon takes off, heading straight to Alnus Hill.
