"I'm not a useless failure?!"
Paul was instantly overwhelmed with emotion when he heard Hetu's words, his body trembling from sheer excitement. His eyes sparkled with a sudden, inexplicable brilliance. But then, as quickly as his emotions rose, they subsided, and Paul let out a deep sigh.
"Forget it, don't try to comfort me. I can't even cultivate the most basic martial arts techniques. If that doesn't make me a failure, what does?"
Seeing Paul's emotional rollercoaster, Hetu, a spirit artifact who had lived through countless cycles of time, suddenly had the urge to give Paul a good beating. What Hetu said was true—Paul wasn't just any ordinary person; he possessed the most powerful constitution in the universe: the Chaos Heavenly Body.
However, to Paul's ears, Hetu's honest words sounded more like empty comfort. Hetu couldn't help but feel a surge of irritation. But how could Hetu fully understand Paul's emotional scars?
In the Daxia Dynasty, even the most ordinary martial artists could cultivate basic techniques. Even the lowest of slaves in Paul's family could master some martial arts. Some of the stronger slaves had even reached the third or fourth level of martial prowess. Yet, as a branch member of the Paul family, Paul could not cultivate at all. In this martial-obsessed world, this made him a complete and utter failure.
Despite being part of the Paul family, Paul had no status whatsoever. Even the lowest-ranked servants looked down on him. For years, Paul had carried the unbearable weight of being labeled "a useless failure," and over time, despair had taken root in his heart.
"No matter where I go, I'll always be a useless nobody—worse than even the most common slave," Paul said with a self-deprecating laugh, his face filled with bitterness.
"Kid, before you met me, perhaps you truly were a useless failure. But from the moment you crossed paths with me, you are no longer a failure. You are the Chaos Heavenly Body, the most powerful constitution in the universe! Didn't you say you wanted to cultivate? Didn't you say you wanted to trample on all those who looked down on and humiliated you?"
Hetu's voice suddenly turned cold. "But if you continue to look down on yourself, then even with the Chaos Heavenly Body, you'll still be nothing but a useless failure—one without any worth!"
Paul's anger flared instantly. "My body may be weak, but I've always had the will to grow stronger! You can insult my physical condition, but don't you dare insult my dignity!"
"Your dignity?" Hetu sneered. "Everything I've said is the truth. If you don't believe me, I can send you back right now, and you can return to the Paul family to live out your days as a worthless failure."
Paul's expression hardened, and he stared coldly at Hetu. "Don't play with me. If you're trying to trick me, I swear I'll fight you to the death, even if I'm not strong enough."
Hetu chuckled darkly. "Why would I need to deceive you? You're not even worth the effort."
Paul fell silent. After a long pause, he reflected on everything that had happened over the past few days. Once he calmed down, he looked up at Hetu with determination in his eyes.
"I want to cultivate. I want to become stronger. But I have nothing right now. Since you're the legendary artifact spirit, surely you have some powerful techniques to give me, right?" Paul asked, his expression steady.
"I do. In fact, I have a technique perfectly suited to your unique constitution," Hetu said nonchalantly.
Paul's eyes brightened. "What exactly is this 'Chaos Heavenly Body'? And what is the Hetu Luoshu? Can you explain everything in detail?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Hetu replied with a hint of sarcasm, before explaining everything Paul needed to know.
It turned out that after Paul was kicked off the cliff by Paul Ling, he had landed directly on the Hetu Luoshu scroll. As Paul's blood spilled onto the scroll, it unexpectedly formed a bond between the two—Paul had inadvertently become the master of this legendary artifact.
Thanks to this connection, the Hetu Luoshu activated its abilities, healing Paul's injuries and even transforming his body. During this process, Hetu discovered something remarkable: Paul didn't have a worthless body. In fact, his physique was the strongest in existence—the Chaos Heavenly Body.
In this universe, there are many different special constitutions, like the Immortal Golden Body, the Battle God Physique, and the Pure Yang Body, all of which are extraordinary. But Paul's body, the Chaos Heavenly Body, was considered the most powerful of all, without equal. Furthermore, what made this body unique was that only one such physique could exist at any given time. If there was already a Chaos Heavenly Body, no other could emerge unless the original had perished.
Initially, Hetu was annoyed that his new master was an ordinary, powerless human. But once he realized Paul's true potential as the sole possessor of the Chaos Heavenly Body, Hetu's irritation turned to excitement. He now believed that under his guidance, Paul would quickly rise to prominence.
Because of this, Hetu had shown such patience with Paul and even allowed him to enter the space within the painting. Otherwise, if Paul had truly been a worthless failure, Hetu would have had no qualms about finding ways to rid himself of such a weak master.
Hetu continued explaining for half a day, while Paul took just as long to digest the information. Slowly, Paul began to understand the true magnitude of what he had stumbled into.
"The Hetu Luoshu is the most powerful treasure in existence," Hetu explained. "Within it is an entire space, filled with endless divine weapons, magical artifacts, cultivation techniques, and every resource imaginable. However, whether or not you can access these treasures depends entirely on your own abilities. I can't just hand them to you."
"All that is far beyond my current reach," Paul said with a calm determination. "Right now, I just want to become stronger. Hetu, do you have a cultivation technique suitable for me?"
"As the owner of the Chaos Heavenly Body, you can't cultivate ordinary techniques," Hetu began, causing a flicker of disappointment to cross Paul's face.
"But, I happen to have the perfect technique for you—the Chaos Heavenly Body Manual, designed specifically for your unique constitution," Hetu said with a smile.
"That's amazing! Hurry and give it to me!" Paul's excitement was palpable. After all these years of being labeled a failure, he had finally found a way forward. No one could understand how much this meant to him.
Hetu wasted no time. With a flick of his wrist, a jade slip appeared in his hand, which he then handed to Paul. "Focus your mind on the jade slip, and you'll be able to see the technique."
Paul took the jade slip and did as instructed, channeling his mental energy into it. Instantly, he found himself in a pitch-black void, with lines of text floating before him. As soon as Paul's mind touched the words, they transformed into streams of light and entered his body before he even had a chance to react.
At that moment, Paul realized that a new memory had imprinted itself in his mind—the first level of the Chaos Heavenly Body Manual. He knew that the rest of the manual was locked away, accessible only once his strength grew.
With a loud crack, the jade slip in Paul's hand shattered, leaving him as the sole possessor of this powerful technique. But despite having the technique, Paul had no experience with cultivation. His body had previously been incapable of martial arts, so he had no foundational knowledge of how to begin.
Fortunately, Hetu was there to guide him. Although he was merely an artifact spirit—and a damaged one at that—Hetu had once served an incredibly powerful master, and his knowledge was vast. In the coming days, Hetu began instructing Paul in the basics of cultivation.
With each lesson, Paul's understanding of the world expanded, as if a door to an entirely new realm had opened before him. He now knew that ever since Paul Ling had kicked him off the cliff, his destiny had been irreversibly altered. How far he could go down this new path would depend entirely on his own efforts.
"Paul Ling, Paul family—I, Paul, will return one day! Everything you owe me, I'll collect a hundredfold! You all think you're untouchable, but I, the so-called failure, will make sure to trample you beneath my feet!" Paul's eyes narrowed as countless thoughts raced through his mind. Then, without wasting any more time, he focused entirely on his cultivation.
Watching Paul practice diligently, Hetu's face darkened with determination. "Master, rest assured. I've found the young master. I will train him well and help him exact revenge. We will wipe out every one of your enemies, down to the last!"
