A pause.
Then—
I pointed at myself. "Okay, think of a joke like… an attack. A sneak attack."
The human side flinched.
"A sneak attack?"
The void side's eyes lit up.
"Oh, this I like."
"Yeah. A sneak attack—on your expectations." I gestured vaguely. "You think something's going one way, but—BAM! It hits you from another angle. And that's what makes it funny."
Her brow furrowed. "It's… supposed to be funny?"
"Yes. That's why it's called a joke."
"I still don't understand."
I sighed.
"Think of it like I'm telling a story, or ask a very stupid question and just when you think you know where it's going—BAM! A sneak attack that makes you question everything, but in a funny way."
Both sides still looked lost.
I groaned. "Fine, let me just tell you a joke. You'll get it then."
I cleared my throat. Ahem. Should I start with a simple one? Or something clever?
Let's keep it simple.
