The week I was training to fight Alfred, a couple of people I sparred with warned me about his long right hook that comes out of nowhere.
After I watched his fight I realized his hooks and uppercuts are way more superior than mine even though he's an outboxer. I had to bridge that gap and improve both my hooks and uppercuts, so I got to training.
My goal was to throw 10,000 hooks and uppercuts before the fight, so I got to work. I needed to improve without relying on the quest window.
I asked other's for tips on how to throw my hooks and uppercuts better and I implemented their advice. After 1 day both of my punches felt way better, especially my uppercut. I checked my status window and my uppercut went from C- to C. I could feel the improvement, but I knew I had more in me.
'9,996'
'9,997'
'9,998'
'9,999'
'10,000'
'That was faster than expected'
I reached my goal of 10,000 hooks and uppercuts way faster than I expected which leads me to a lot more time to practice other techniques, and a lot more soreness.
It was already 8:00 at night when I finished so I decided to call it a day.
"Looks like somebody has been training," Rick said.
I smirked at him.
"You're making up for the weeks worth of training you missed," Jake chuckled.
"That's my only choice," I said. "If I don't train hard, this might be the last week I'm with you guys. Or my last week."
"Don't say that Michael." Rick remarked, "You still got a whole boxing career ahead of you."
"I know."
The days felt long, but I was doing what I loved. Training day in and day out, even though the days felt long my last week before the fight passed in a blink of an eye. And before I knew it, I was standing right in front of my opponent, Alfred.
